So, my situtation is this, I just finished Toku, and now I noticed Wang Kong has tech lead and amazing CE map and just discovered Liberalism while I'm at Paper I think could be worst. My question is if I beeline to chemistry and get some GM to upgrade my macemans to grenaders and attack immediately could it work. What do you do if you lose liberalism-race and AI has a tech lead and diplomatic victory is out of questioon.

I can't play for 4 hours so I hope I can get some advice so I can finish the game. :)

EDIT: Amazing map = maybe 9 cities near rivers and a lot of floodplains and resources. I thikn he has 13-15 cities at total.

Try and get a GS or two to lightbulb chemistry. You need to have gunpowder and clear away printing press. Yes, upgrade your maces and whip out some more grenadiers and try and cripple him by taking out some key cities. If Toku gets going his power graph can be insane...

If you're going for an attack, build lots of maces and upgrade rather than build Grenadiers, the 2 CR promotions (barracks and theocracy, vassalage or a military instuctor) you can give to the macemen count for something. You can't give these promotions to new Grenadiers. Also build a good stack of trebs.

Thanks for replies. I don't think there is any need for lightbulbing I think I already bulbed Philosophy what I usually I do it's a good trade and I have Paper too so I'm thinking I'm going for GM I think I can get 40-50% to get one.

My hope is high of my first Domination on Monarch what I have tried to do now a few times actually this is my fourth attempt. All I need to do is to take Wang Kong if I'm able to do it I can draft like mad and finish Brennus with riflemans and trebs he has less than 10 cities.

I guess if you're planning to upgrade a lot of maces you might be better of with a GM and self-researching chem. Do you have optics yet so you can send your GM to the other continent? If not, it's a bit of a waste imo and you'd be better off bulbing chem and trying to trade tech for $$$ and spend some turns at 0 science to build up some more $$$.

Wang Kong is dead. There is still brennus on my continent he has only 8 cities. I'm kind of dissapointed why Wang Kong didn't cottage his best tiles isn't he finalcial only thundra was cottaged guess it was his starting point and all cities near river and floodplains was fully farmed. I'm going to cottage his cities and take a tech lead shouldn't take too long and after that kill Brennus and go oversee for conquer victory. This map is just too sweet and has full potential to it.

EDIT: The attack was an success I used one GM and ran science slider at 0% to get $$$ and take his breath away.

The AI just loves farms way too much. This is another reason why running a FE/SE is good: The AI builds your farms for you :p
