French army faces the full fury of Prussia
As talks asking for a cease-fire broke down the full fury of Prussia's might was unleashed on the French invaders. The invaders suffered heavy casualties with the newly formed French army reduced to a shell of the force that crossed the border.
Even whilst talks were underway French forces have assaulted Vejle with Imperial Cavalry being bloodly repulsed. fresh troops have poured into Vejle to give the hard pressed defenders new hope.
New hope was given to all the peoples of Prussia by the signing of a Mutual Protection Pact with the Ottoman Empire. This agreement should help safeguard Prussia's borders for the forseeable future and will further dampen French aspirations for easy gains at Prussia's expense. The agreement will come as a shock to the French government who had recently proclaimed the Ottomans were at war with Prussia. Officials refused to deny that the talks with the Ottoman empire had been on-going for sometime.

Elsewhere forces under the command of Gerhardt von Scharnhorst engaged French voltigeurs near Amsterdam routing them as they prepare to assault the city.

news from the warfront:

spain loses 2 cavs to our glorious infantry.

in danemark, the Emperor, in a bold move has ordered the sacking of the towns.
His advisers, grasping the enormity of the moment besieged him to have mercy on the souls of so many free men.
in a token of goodwill L'Emperor has agreed to surrender the cities of Copenhagen and Skagen to the Austrians.

the city of Amsterdam awaits the prussian barbarian hordes with great fear and determination.
it may fall, but it will cost the prussians blood by the barrel!

Message from George III, by the Grace of God, King of Great Britain, France and Ireland, Defender of the Faith, etc. and Elector of Hannover.

King George is a little concerned to hear about the transfer of Danish cities to Austria, and feel that this is veiled attempt to plunge the German states into a state of war. We hope that sense, and the strong relationship and bonds between the German nations will avert disaster.

War against Spain continues, and Zaragoza has fallen to Allied Iberian troops after a token struggle. Three Spanish Soldodo's surrendered after attacks by British Household Cavalry, and then presented the city to the liberators.

The Cavalry excelled and have the officers have been presented with the Zaragoza medal.

Austria Welcomes Copenhagen & Skagen

Vienna
The Kaiser thanks Napoleon for this remarkable diplomatic move.
Fieldmarshal O'Reilly was sent to see to the transfer of the cities of Copenhagen & Skagen. He also welcomes the citizens of these cities to the prosperous Austrian Empire.

Austrian Diplomats have requested permission from Prussia to move a unknown number of Austrian military units through a highly fortified area.

Soon after penning the 2nd Ottoman-Austrian Protection Pact, the Ottomans started moving her forces from the Russian frontier. Then Ottoman diplomats delivered the following news.

Kaiser Franz II of the Austrian Empire

Death of an Army
Ottoman Empire declares war against France
This day 7th March 1807 has seen the destruction of the forces that entered Prussia intent on capturing the city of Frankfurt. There was much loss of life amongst the forces that were attempting to return to France, no doubt to launch themselves against the cities of Prussia once again. Our brave soliders also suffered losses amongst many acts of bravery. The French siege train was siezed and is bound back to Frankfurt where some of the metal will be used to issue campaign medals to those who fought in defence of the Fatherland. Even our own officers were stunned by the completeness of the victory. The end to this crisis brings hope of peace so that the heroes of Frankfurt can return home, sadly correspondence seized from the French Army headquarters reveal French intentions to re-new the assault on Prussia.
Stirred by the news of the heroic acts performed in this campaign Sultan Selim III has ordered war be declared on France and any who seek to subugate the noble peoples of Prussia.

Amsterdam Falls
Scharnhorst's forces captured Amsterdam in an almost bloodless assault, upon entering the city the soliders witnessed scenes of devastation that showed a complete disregard for human life. Scharnhorst told journalists that he hoped scenes like this would not be repeated in other French held cities. He prayed that the Austrian protectors of Skagen and Copenhagen would not find such devastation as were witnessed in Amsterdam.

terrible news from Paris:

the prussians have truly vanquished our army.
we keep trying to hold the line, but morale in paris is down.

reports of a massive barbarian uprising west of paris are alarming the people.
hordes of redcoats are reputed to head for our ancient capital.

farmers run for the hills, and soliers vow now dig into hilltops and only leave upon strechers or within coffins.

L'Emperor seeks help in saving the cradle of civilization from whoever shall send it.

france is in need, and is not too proud to beg!

Message from George III, by the Grace of God, King of Great Britain, France and Ireland, Defender of the Faith, etc. and Elector of Hannover.

The war with Spain continues to go well. Merida is the latest Spanish city to capitulate, falling on the 14th March 2007.

meridagz3.jpg

Four units of Spanish soldiers were lost in the battle against the brave British forces. In the end, it was the overwhelming skill and bravery of units of the Coldstream Guards that overcame the defenders and ran the Spanish out of town.

Also, a Spanish cavalry unit south of Pamplona were routed on the field of battle.

The news from France is also good. While no French cities have been restored to their rightful owner yet, the true King of France expects progress soon in this area. Several French towns are under attack, and there has been fierce fighting already in Caen. One unit of French Imperial Guard has already surrendered and others are expected soon. Unfortunately British losses have been high, with reports of two units of Household Cavalry, and four units of Lifeguards removed from battle. However, as you read this, a huge contingent of renforcements are preparing to disembark on the continent to fight for King and Country.

We wish the brave men of the Empire a good battle for the rest of 1807.

Long live the King!

Message from George III, by the Grace of God, King of Great Britain, France and Ireland, Defender of the Faith, etc. and Elector of Hannover.

King George III is pleased to bring good news from several fronts.

In Spain, Medina has fallen in the Battle of Medina, 3rd May 1807.

Four Spanish Soldido's and a unit of Spanish Cavalry were defending the city as the British moved in. They were sweeped aside ruthlessly, however one unit of Household Cavalry were unfortunately lost in the fighting.

Also a Spanish transport was sunk off the coast of Gibralter, and three units of Spanish Cavalry were wiped out near Pamplona.

In France, we have recaptured Brest for the British.

One unit of Imperial guard, and one unit of voltgier were disposed of during the fighting. Again, British losses were light, with one unit of Household Cavalry being taken out of action.

Nancy Falls

Nancy_falls.JPG

The city of Nancy has fallen to Prussian forces despite less than inspired gunnery from their 'grosse batteries'. The 1st army under Blucher seized the city though a regiment of curiassers fell in the assault. Further Prussian forces have crossed the border near Brussels. Despite Austrian attempts to broker a peace deal between the two nations it seems likely Prussia will not rest until Paris falls! Ottoman troops are thought to be close at hand to add to France's woes.

The renewed war with Russia brought rioting in Riga which was firmly surpressed after a week of violence.

Message from George III, by the Grace of God, King of Great Britain, France and Ireland, Defender of the Faith, etc. and Elector of Hannover.

The King is pleased to announce the capture of Caen from the French.

caenrs7.jpg

The city was packed with brave defenders, who fought to the bitter end, being the perfect embodyment of the spirit of the Emperor. Unfortunately, it couldn't turn back the red tide.

The Battle of Caen, July 1807, started with a huge bombardment of the city that shook it to its core. Then the cavalry charged followed finally by the Lifeguards. In total, the French lost 2 units of Voltgiers, 2 units of Imperial Cavalry, and 4 units of Imperial Guard.

British troops are now within firing distance of Paris. The King will also listen to any offers of exile.

In Spain, the French are advancing across the Pyrennes, however they will find it tough going. A unit of Spanish cavalry was also destroyed near Pamplona.

God Save the King!
