Light In The East: Civs Of The Orient(And Beyond)

Not a Qasr, but rather something else. It benfiits from trade routes.

Is the name in English( like 'X outpost') or completely in the native language?
also, I'm unfamiliar with this civ. Where is it from?

I recall I found once a webpage that was nothing but a list of Arabic Tower names and their functions. I wish I could find it again...

A funduq?
(What you mean unique to north Africa?)

From that part of the world, my first thought would be a foggara, but I think that's been swiped by the Garamantes.

Now I realized no one asked this one yet... Burj?

Alternatively, Hisn or Sangar are also still options.

Zawiyah? Karvan? Ghorfa?

None of those are uniquely North African, Burj just means tower and I think hisn means fort or citadel or whatever. Sangar isn't even Arabic as far as I know, there are no G's in Arabic, they don't have a letter for it.

Oh, of course, I feel dumb now. Ribat?
