Little questions & answers thread

What is 'legend unlock' on the legacy tree? I had one on science that looked really powerful - +1 to all adjacencies, but it wouldn't let me select it

and how do you do that? these leader xp things are annoying and gamey. I hated seeing that option in my confucious game and not being able to select it.

Play that leader. Main menu profle challenges tab show how to gain exp. Leaders and general

"Friedrich (Schiefe Schlachtreihe)" is also a bad solution though - what kind of persona description is that? Can't we have "Friedrich (Taktiker)," "Friedrich (Feldherr)" or something?

To be a bit pedantic, I also think that "Friedrich (Baroque)" is quite off the mark. I know he composed and played baroque music, but the art style he's connected with (and also philosophy of representation) is Rococo. He's probably even the first monarch that comes to mind when most people think of Rococo. But granted, the persona isn't very Rococo ;) and the duality of oblique-baroque has some charm in english. But in German, it doesn't work similarly (Barock-schief), so a duality like "Kunstförderer" and "Taktiker" might be a better fit.
Agreed.

I just wanted to keep their "Schief", as I was under the impression they like the notion.
Maybe, this narrowed my view a bit too much.

"Taktiker" is definitely a smoother solution.

Is there a simple way to cycle through my units, particularly my sleeping units? My eyes aren't good enough to keep hunting all over the globe for those tiny icons.

Is there any bonus if you chose an ideology before the other players?
I'm pretty sure I read somewhere it gave you some policy bonus but I can't find it anymore and I didn't notice anything while playing

I'm randomly getting migrants in my capital, where are they coming from?

There is on Console and presumably if you’re playing on a controller on PC. With a unit selected, you can hit left and right bumper buttons to cycle through units. So if there’s not a hot key on PC, it should be a very easy fix, hopefully Firaxis will add that to their list, although what we really need is a selectable list of units.

If my town is too far from the coast to build a Fishing Quay, can I still get Treasure Fleets by connecting to a coastal town via roads? Related question, does it display anywhere which settlements a given town is connected to?

No.

Nowhere before you set a specialization. If they are not sending anything, it's not connected to a city. And at that point is too late.

Or just download TCS Tooltip, it's a head saver, making it much easier to plan city positions.

Do buildings in towns that were cities in previous eras cost the usual happiness/gold upkeep along with the removed adjacencies? I'd assume so, which'd be annoying since you can't overbuild most of them unless you turn it back into a city. (Wondering whether the urban centre specialisation could be worth it!)

Rarely if ever worth it, because for some reason Quarters are created only when current-age and warehouse buildings are on a tile - obsolete buildings don’t count.
