I too want an answer to this. I can never tell when I go to build/buy a building if it is going to supplement what is already there or outright delete it. It would be nice if they said builing x here will remove y and the yields will be +/- each of these...
This is a HUGE miss in the UI. That combined with the fact that other than when your town/city grows there's no way to zoom into the city and see the full tile yields (including specialists)
Right. But it seems strange to me based on the tooltip and the fact that treasure resources are spawning in the middle of a landmass that you can't connect to a city with a fishing quay to get those resources out. The tooltip for a treasure resource says "creates treasure fleet when connected to a coastal settlement".
No really a question or an answer, but I just have a 1080p monitor. I increased the text size and turn on red blind color (even though I am not) and it helped me read some of info screen details, but what really helped was turning on having the game read the text to me although in other ways it is annoying. Regretfully, changing the tooltip time delay does not seem to relieve the annoying aspects.
ask a question, hopefully someone has an answer...
personally, my first battle with the UI is fresh water bonus. what difference does it make? seems to be something to do with happiness but so far I have been unable to pin down what exactly
can someone explain why scouts have a movement of 2 just like a warrior? Why create one ? What bonuses do they have? I really don't see any useful info in the Civ help

There is a policy you can take that give scouts specifically more range. It unlocks relatively early. I’m not sure what other bonuses scouts have though.

I know that they can spend their turn to reveal tiles just outside their site range as well as the location of all goodie huts in an even further range, which is probably pretty useful.

* Their movement doesn't end on Vegetated or Rough tiles (so they more than often reaaly have these 2 movement instead of only one)
* They have the Search (cost only one movement point, you can move and then use it!) and Lookout abilities, to reveal these nice discoveries from farther away or keeping an eye on someone
I just had a city-state join me, I'm not sure why (it looks like it is under the influence of another nearby city-state that I am Suzerain of), but what does the 'rebel' and flame icons mean? Did it rebel from someone else? Is it going to rebel from me?

1) Does the yield displayed when overbuilding account for the yields you lose replacing the old building, and 2) how does the game choose which building to overbuild when there are two in the quarter?
Am I missing something? Is there information shown somewhere that I am not seeing? When I go to place a building, and there is something already there, I do not see what the + or - it would give is shown. Also if there are 2 "circles", for the life of me I can't tell what building is already in there (they are so tiny), as also as previously stated, I have no idea what the new building will add or subtract from resources if I place it there (or "replace" it there).
While I agree it could be clearer, the hover tooltip will tell you what's on the tile, and the left panel will tell you which existing building is going to be overbuilt (if there is one).
There does not appear to be a unit list. It's pretty easy to lose units if you put them on sleep or sentry somewhere that you can't easily see them.
And you don't get any kind of notification when your units are attacked (the camera doesn't track, and there's no notification until a unit is destroyed.) So if you have a Scout or an exploring naval unit that's healing somewhere, if it's attacked you won't find out until it is killed. There are lots of cases in which your first notification that you're under attack is that your unit(s) are already dead.
Is there no remote save to the 2K website like there has been in the prior games. I started to save the game, and it worked on my PC (although I couldn't get the save game to work on my laptop); but it only offered "local" with no other choice. When I went to reload the game, it showed an option for local and auto; but I couldn't find a setting to save remotely.
