Little questions & answers thread

Do I have to do anything special to make my Army Commander respawn after it gets killed? It seems like I have been waiting a long time. I can see it on my unit list, but either I am too blind to see it or it still stays on the list when it despawns. Where does it pop back up when it returns?

Related question, I seem to do pretty well at keeping my commanders safe until the Modern Era when they get chewed up pretty fast. Any advice on keeping them alive?

They respawn after "a few turns". I'm not sure if this is variable. No, there is nothing you need to do. Note that they seem to appear at your capital, so be prepared.

I also noticed that modern age commanders are particularly vulnerable. Always keep at least one unit in the same tile to fight back. Even if you don't see any immediate danger, all it takes is a ship to sail up the coast and fire on your commander two tiles inland.

What options are available to increase the number of Resources we can allocate to each City or Town in the Modern Era? I feel lost without my Camels.

I see we’ve got 2 more with Port and 1 with Department Store, but the maximum resource number still seems tiny compared to the Ancient and Exploration limits.

The Factory has 1 too, but that's all in Modern age. It's probably a balance choice regarding the Factory Resources / Legacy Path, but I feel like you.
The Tomb of Askia in Exploration age adds 2 to its City, Machu Pikchu +2 too, in Antiquity age Colossus +3 and Monks Mound +4.

Does anyone know why my Archers doesn't have LOS on that Spearman? 2 turns later as I advanced on the barbarians I was able to shoot the guy in the camp with units having to shoot around the mountain to it's SE

So, what's the deal with the plague crisis in the Exploration age? I use Physicians and they don't help at all.

It's blocked by vegetated tiles. Both NW tile and W tile of archer's tile is vegetated, so the archer can't shoot through them.
Yep. I gotta remember to read ALL of the tooltip.....

Nevermind on that second question; i misunderstood what was happening and it's all good now

Yeah, I'm posting a lot today, but sometimes this game is so confusing.

I just changed a town to a Farming Town. I expected the +50% growth reduction but I also expected a little bit more food than I got. My city should be producing food yields in the double digits based on the tiles it's working but it isnt.

Ive never actually seen food yield go down when selecting that option....glitch?

Playing my third game now. In my first two games I had exactly the same legacy options to choose from at the start of the second age. In my third game I have ones I hadn’t seen before. I did go up to Viceroy from Governor this game, so I’m wondering if the options are dealt randomly from a deck, or if there are different options for different difficulties, or both?

As an example, I have options for Inward Perfection and Imperial Ambition, neither of which I had before. I am still playing the same Civ snd leader as my last game, though I have chosen a different Civ for this age than last game. Do different Civs get different options?

You have unlocked that Leaders Legacy option. You'll get new Momentos, Legend Attributes and Legendary Legacies as you level up each leader. Playing the same leader multiple times will get you there.

Wait, does elevation actually matter?!? I am on a map with some pretty significant elevation and cliffs, and my archers could shoot over rough terrain from a higher elevation.
