At least Natural Wonders without bonuses to adjacent tiles are good for placing Holy Sites around.
Yeah, they're ideal for holy sites around them, but always feels like such poor yields. They really should boost them somehow based on what happens in the adjacent tiles too. So, for example, the Chocolate Hills received an extra +1 science per adjacent campus or something like that, that would give you at least a little something extra to want to build around them.
Well, that worked for Yasser Arafat.
lol, the luck he is having with this start!
unreal amount of geothermal fissures, first meet city-states and goodie huts combined with extremely defensive mountain range. It's the dream.
Poor Australia's liberation bonus got nerfed to 10 turns (down from 20).
There went any and all chances of the AI winning a science victory .
Oh, good catch.
Is the stream on standard speed? It might be on a faster speed.
He's playing on standard.
Tbf Australia really did need a nerf. Its a nice little nudge
Another day another stream of potato playing it fast and loose with city-states and getting a city razed by them.
Shouldn't matter as I saw it on a screenshot listing all abilities and I don't think they change based on speed.
I agree that Australia needed a nerf but I think the 10 turn production boost for being a war victim is the worst offender regarding fairness as it 1. encourages Australia to be a massive douche and 2. makes them very hard to attack/conquer/punish for forward settling. This is the reason they're disliked I multiplayer. I'd prefer to see the liberation boost re-buffed to 15 turns and the victim boost reduced to 5.
To be honest, I always assumed that it’s 10 turns. At the very least, this makes it consistent(ly dull).
TheGameMechanic finally got a preview version and is also playing:
Add to that the fact that the AI isn't conquering as much CS now and you have a considerably weaker Australia, since it's harder to keep a streak of liberations and just keep that 100% production going strong.. It still one of the strongest Civs though..
Asked in Normul8or"s chat @ Carl (from Firaxis) if Professional Army (50% Discount to upgrading units) policy card discounts Strat. resources as well as gold or just gold.
Carl responded that it discounts both gold and resource costs for unit upgrades.
Russian Preview is up:
Doesn't seem like Indonesia got any changes, unless it's something to do with Kampung...
Roman Bath buffs: [Edit: Me stupid]
+1 Amenities if built next to geothermal fissures. This is in addition to the default +1 Amenities it always had.
Prevents food loss from droughts, just like Stepwells.
I think both of those are for all Aqueducts.
