My SG fizzle revolves around 3 issues:
1) I hate defiance - period. I really prefer to cave unless the demand is to extreme. I don't care if the AI is far away.
2) I am getting tired of playing with ruined reputation. LK101 is the latest to suffer from this due to an unstable overseas trade that went south.
3) I am tired of starting wars that I feel are too premature. My comfort level of when it is safe to start a war has really gotten out of sync with other players. I have had several turns recent where I felt I was banging my head against the wall, as I simply couldn't handle the situation.

This variant CAN'T have any of the above situations. :D

Remember 10 turns per round - STRICT 24 hours got it, total 48 to complete.

Additional restrictions:
Armies may NOT be used more then 5 tiles from a cultural border.
This is very intentional to discourage armies. The first army is encouraged for the high culture of heroic epic. The preferred use of other leaders is to rush buildings such as heroic epic, forbidden palace, etc. Even a university is good to rushed between wonders.

The goal is to keep the 20K city on wonders and not have to divert to secondary buildings. However, a lot of those buildings will really speed up the end date.

The game MUST be won by 20K - period.

This is the standard LK AW type game with NO initial trading.

Sign up requirements -
1) Previous AW experience, preferably emperor.
2) 20K win, preferably at emperor.
 
I will sign up if eligible. Haven't actually played a game AW from the start, only from about the middle ages on. That was DG though.
 
Not a signup, yet. Interesting concept. Can I be put on the bench, i.e. subs? I need one of my other games to finish first. If I cannot play I will lurk and insert pithy comments from time to time.
 
The rules have been revised.

The following tactics are PROHIBITED:

RoP Abuse Tactics - Denying resources, blocking key tiles, RoP rape, or other ways to screw-up a civ via the RoP. A scout in AI territory has an explicit RoP and is subject to this rule.

Peace Treaty abuse - If you get concessions from the AI you must wait for the 20 turns to end before declaring another war.

Resource abuse - You can't disconnect / reconnect a resource every turn for the sake of building cheap units to upgrade with excess cash.

Ship chaining exploit - you can move a ship, unload troops to another ship in the same square not using any movement, move that ship, etc. This allows you to ship an indefinite distance, and that is why I consider it an exploit.

The negative science exploit - you can run a huge deficit (-250 / turn) of negative cash with a token penalty of one lost worker / cheap building. If cash will go below zero, the research level must be dropped.

Palace Jump - You abandon the capital city to move the palace to a new location. If you want to move the palace, build a new palace.

Mass troop jumping - You can't give away a give a city to transport a large amount of troops to another landmass.

Worker baiting - You can't spread around and sacrifice workers to an oncoming attack. This is often done to avoid losing real units or cities. This takes advantage of the AI failure to prioritize targets.

Worker blockades - You can't fortify a bunch of workers along the coast to prevent invasions, or shut down the borders with workers. The workers must be actively doing something.



Standard LK house rules:
1) Worker automation of any kind is prohibited.

2) Our reputation is golden - please respect it.

3) You may not declare war on a civ if you are currently shipping cash and / or goods to the civ. The ONLY exception is a pure per-turn deal if it is the last war of the game. I still don't like this, but this is a concession to the SG community standards.

4) Even if not covered under exploits listed, please try not to use tactics that take advantage of holes in the game design.

5) As you probably know barbs are screwed up in C3C. It is preferred that you add the following line to your Civ3 .ini file - noAIpatrol=0. Adding "noAIpatrol=0" to the .ini file turns the annoying patrolling back on for the AIs, but also restores movement to the barbarians.

GA6 AWM SG hosted by Ginger Ale,played as China.Won.
Several solo 20k victories on Monarch.
Only diplomatic victories on Emperor.
(SGs won,Blind leading the blind part 1,Emperor,Russia,conquest
and Blind leading the blind part 2,DemiGod,Dutch,diplomatic)

I'll gladly take the last spot. Feels like its been ages since I played in an LK game. I do have AWD experience from SGOTM7 if you were curious, seeing as I haven't really been too active in the AW games played here.

lurker's comment: Cool concept. Won't AW cause the AI's to focus less on building wonders? Should be a fun game, good luck.
 
After looking over the list of civs for the LK series I see the Byzantines haven't been played in ages. I am trying to get a start.

I already had a failure when I could see *2* AI cities just as 20K was build and the capitol was shield poor. I couldn't even build the third city near the cows without starting a war...

I hope to have our 2nd city as the 20K city so that palace pre-builds are possible.

Constantinople is formed off the coast to keep the 20K location free.

Burial is the 1st tech due to the goal of 20K.


2800 BC
Adrianople is formed to be the 20K city.

Check out the size and shield count at turn 50.
This is with the city being formed second.
I think you can see why I moved the capitol. :D

I am really surprised that we have NOT met another civ. I hope we avoid it a little longer as I started in an AW farmer's gambit to get the 20K city up and running. After the next settler is build we MUST start getting some military going. We do have visible iron on the map. :D

The worker priority must continue to be improving 20K above all.
