I load the save and she doesn't ask again - aww, c'mon chick! I was just playing hard to get! Should I have just gone with my gut feeling and said no?

Instead, we get this. Not yet.

Cathy wants to trade MC for Monarchy, and will throw in Meditation. It turns out that Izzy already has MC, so I suppose it's time to trade around for alphabet as well.

Trade MC to Fred for Alphabet, and to Zara for Monarchy.

The wanderers come across Athens, which is "relatively" unguarded, but still unobtainable. They chop the roads up and find Alex's iron. We could probably control this and grind him down, if we wanted. Aesthetics came in (although I noticed Izzy had it, and fuedalism, a few turns back, but it was close enough to finishing to keep going of course), and I used literature as a placeholder. This can be done in 4 turns at 100% if we want TGL or the epics. The capital can now whip the forge, although I didn't in case someone wanted to get it down to a 2 pop whip, otherwise it was your standard units and granaries type of affair. Frankly, I don't see us getting any headway through Sparta with those shock defenders, not right now, anyway. There's no sign of other AI armies, although Izzy is cranking, and Joao's shrine is kicking in.
You're probably right. Sometimes SGs make me nervously do things I wouldn't normally doArg - I really wish we didn't make this trade. I been burned several times by the tech limit, and only actively do the time of trade on a game I expect to be short. I have no idea how we will win this one, but I have no question it will be a long one.

Spoiler graphs :

Where are all the AIs? 3 of them are at war with Greece, yet I see no sign of any of them. We are wasting our time with Greece if another AI won't weaken them some. We just don't have the production to take them out solo at this point.
I wish those "beep"-s were easier to understand

to Izzy who did all the hard work with her phantom troops that I'm yet to see.
Alex is sending quite a few phalanx and swords thru Joao's land toward Fred... or us.

The south is safe now, and we could easily finish Alex off with what we've got, and with reinforcements from the HE.
He doesn't have much to give us, so we may as well, unless someone has another plan? Techs are still up in the air, and I was pushing for philo. Tao isn't taken yet, Cathy and Joao have vassalage, and he certainly has CS, although I don't know if she has it. In any case, we might be in with a shot for liberalism.
