I agree - the hotrod0823 last turn confusion, following by lack of response by Juliennew hurt big time.

This game is almost done - good luck Trickey.

@Trickey - almost 48 hours, let's wrap this one.

@all - this game is almost done. You are welcome to play 20 turns to wrap it up. I would hate for the game to end this close to done.

I got it and will play up to twenty turns (depending on time constraints). Just to let you know, I'm not going to micro everything, just going to move the game along as fast as possible. Look for a post tomorrow night, maybe Saturday moring pacific time as I'm going to the Angels game.

I emailed the game and summary to Lee. There appeared to be some problem with the boards last night and this morning, so I couldn't post it. We are about 11 turns away from a space victory. Somebody just needs to spend about an hour finishing it up. Time wise I just couldn't see spending eight to ten hours playing my turn to maybe finish the game when two people could spend three hours definitely finishing it (even though it'll take ten more turns).

I can't seem to post a reply on the site. Here you
go. Ten or eleven turns to victory.

Turn 0: Reautomated a bunch of workers from A to
Shift-A. Sold a lux to Egypt for 32gpt.

Turn 1: Some german happiness problems. Landed
troops on German island.

Turn 2: We get fission, research Synth fibers.
Massive unhappiness. We kiss and make up with Germany.
I'm building tanks for eventual MA and possible use
with Egypt. Massive celebrations.

Turn 3: I'm building UN so that nobody else will win
dipo. Germany disbands it's only defender, I can't
resist, and Germany is defeated. It's not like we
don't already have a bad rep.

Turn 4: More building. A solar plant was built.
Whoops. I didn't see that.

Turn 5: Synth fibers are here, but we can't build MA
because we don't have rocketry (can't see aluminum).
HAHAHAHA. I learned something new today.

Turn 6: Most of the workers are automated now. We
are building lots of tanks. I decided instead to go
for a space race win. It'll be shorter to play, but
more turns. Switched cities to non-unit buildings.
started to disband army.

Turn 7: A bunch more buildings. Disbanded about 90
units so far. Mostly to hurry buildings. I hope this
is ok with everyone.

Turn 8: Same.

Turn 9: Built UN, and then I noticed we still have
Hector. He'll rush the Apollo Program, and other
cities will start prebuilds for spaceship components.
Several cities are on wealth right now because we have
a strong military and there isn't anything else to
build.

Turn 10: The other civs are still at war. It takes a
while between turns w/o animations. We know rockets!
Start Space Flight. Gave India Spices to stay polite.
He cancelled our ROP. We redo a three for one lux
deal with england. We catch Egypt planting a spy!!!
That's never happened to me before. Our top half
dozen cities start prebuilding.

Turn 11-13: Not much. Building, some worker
movements to make roads.

Turn 14: Rushed Apollo. Start research
superconducutors.

Turn 15: Started all available SS parts.

Turn 16: Finished three SS parts. By the way, there
is no space race. It's just us.

Turn 17: Finished another SS part.

Turn 18: Started research for satellites. Started
more parts.

Turn 19: Finished the engine, casing, fuel cells, and
one other part. We need two more to win.

Turn 20: Satellites in 2. +397gpt. Hlobane is
prebuilding that part. Most other cities on wealth or
culture/growth. Good luck to who is next. We'll win
on their tenth turn. 1828.

hotrod0823 - PLAYING, wrap this game.

Can't get the game. The upload opens as a bunch of symbols not a regular download dialog box. Can Lee or A.D. post a zip?

LK 28 1808 - Victory [party]

1808 (0): Satellites in 2 turns, Leaving only the laser but requires Nuclear power and computers first.

1810 (1): Satellites next turn, all other civs are soo far behind winning is not going to be a problem, not much happing just waiting for the spaceship to launch.

1812 (2): Learn Satellites start nuclear power, in 4 with +198 gold, start thrusters in Hlobane (palace was a place holder) waste 300+ shield but should matter at all  .

1814 (3): 3 turn to NP!

1816 (4): 2 turns to NP,

1818 (5): Nuclear power next turn +664 gold.

1820 (6): Learn Nuclear power start on computers due in 4 with +483 gpt. Lost supply of wines and gems, Trade Flight and radio back to England for wines and gems, won't hurt to give these techs away at this point.

1822 (7): Computers in 3 turns.

1824 (8): Computers in 2 turns.

1826 (9): Computers next turn +743 gold.

1828 (10): Laser in 4 with +278 gold.

1830 (11): Declined elections to the UN, traded Egypt Radio for ivory. Laser in 3 turns.

1832 (12): Lizzy failed to plant a spy, Laser in 2 start palace in THess.

1834 (13): Laser next turn +924 gold.

1836 (14): Learn Laser start advanced flight, change Thess to Planetary lounge. Finish planetary lounge.

Launch in 1836, score 2590, space race victory!!! Alexander the Lion-Hearted.

Not much to say - very quick turns and a great victory for all of us, it was fun!

Thanks to Lee for your guidance throughout the early stages of the game. Clearly city placement and worker actions can make all the difference. Thankfully at Regent even the worst mistakes and be fixed and even end with a win. And a pretty decisive win at that. The others weren't even in the Modern age yet

To all who particpated. It was a victory very well done!!

I really enoyed watching and learning as you played!

And to Lee: Gret job and boy what a lot of work it was! But I think you did a great thing and you can bet that a lot of people were learning alongside. Though you may understandably take a break, I hope you'll consider doing this again in the future.

Yes,
The game was very instructive. Knowing that everyone was watching made me pay attention a lot more closely than I usually do. Thank you Lee.

It also just worked out that this game finished right when I got PS2. So, I won't be as active in Civ anymore. It's a bit too engrossing and time consuming.
