LK75 - Deity, world map, civ = TBD

Something has increased our unhappiness, but I do not know what it is. All the unhappy people claim it is only crowded.
War happiness ran out. It was probably from the peace treaty with China.

------------------------------

We can get enough of a rebate with a peace deal so we can afford to buy Magnetism from the Songhai.
 This is the second war with the Songahi. I am shocked that they will talk peace alreay.

Remember 5 turns per round - STRICT 24 hours got it, total 48 to at least report a partial status.

NOTE: We are now at 5 turns per round.

Of course we want you to have it when it looks really bleak.

Having had the night to think about it, I think it might be possible/feasible to run the war for one more turn, just to nail the city with the horses. It is a risk though, as there might be cavalry in range of our Egyptian wonder city. I had no less than five strikes on that city during my turns.

Over 48 hours - any news?

@Meldor - It is now 72 hours since got it. Not even a partial report.

Do you need a swap / skip?

850 AD (0)
Not much to change. I wake up a Cav and kill off the musket behind our lines.
(I)Tons of Songhai units pour across the border.

860 AD (1)
After the interturn we have 1 archer, 1 longbow, 3 Cav, 32 MDI 22 muskets, 3 Rifles, 1 sword, 3 pikes and a spear that are coming from the Songhai. I can get a deep discount on a tech for peace and we don't have enough units to get close to taking care of those units without losing at least two cities. I kill off the archer and 2 Cav. The rest are on hills. I sell a couple of techs to get us from 127gpt to 151gpt. I go for peace with the Songhai, we get Magnetism and we give 497g and 126gpt. We sell it to Babylon for 4g, 43gpt and WM. Sell WM around for an average of 15g each. MOve settlers up to fill in the gaps between us and the Songhai.
(I)The Russians and Songhai sign an MPP. Australia makes happy with Russia

870 AD (2)
We give France 198g and 159gpt for ToG. We don't have enough left over to buy steam.
(I)Not much.

880 AD (3)
Found a couple of cities, ask the Songhai to leave. Build an embassy with America.
(I) Greece and India ally against Australia. The trade embargo against us with the Iroquois and Persians ends. Australia and Persia find peace.

890 AD (4)
Continue the road-a-square program.
(I)The trade embargo between Persia and Greece ends.

900 AD (5)
Found one more city. I haven't done diplo this turn. We should be able to dela with Persia now.

Uh, save game please. We are on 5 turns a player.

====================

One last thing...The Songhai seem to be moving in our direction. I would bet that if we boot them they will declare.
It is possibe, but I would be surprise. I don't see the AI start a war this soon after peace. If the troops are moving toward Thebes they have another target. I would only worry if the are heading toward our capitol.

====================

I am reposting this for Grimjacks awareness. I notice some mining of meaningless tiles.

The white line in the picture marks the limit where the hopelessly corrupt cities begin. Our economy is in weak. To improve it we want to hire taxmen in all the cities above the white line one the city maxes out in population for the size 6 cities. Each taxman will add $2 to our coffers. Each new city will add $2 in unit support. If we are to catch up in tech we need to get a lot of specialist in to play. NO mining above this line.

Attachment limit is 250 or 500 kbyte. These files are about 1000.

Sorry about the minings. I was most likely doing stuff on routine, without thinking.

I will be more careful.

IHT: MM all cities for maximum gpt. +371 gpt; but can't buy Steam. Sell our Maps around. Still can't buy Steam. We are in Dire Straits; "Money for nothing". MM all cities back.

IBT: a few more Songhai troops play border control. We get a Crusader.

[1] 910 AD - continue our own "Bush - no tile left behind" project with roading every tile. nothing much. Selling maps and MM-ing cities. Hire 1 scientist to reduce the cost of techs we want to buy.

IBT: Argentina and India MA against Australia. India and Aztecs sign MPP. Australia and America make peace. Military academy finishes in Isand. Starts Bank.

[2] 920 AD - The RoP with Babylon is up for renegotiation. They don't pay for it and I no longer see the use. If we need it we can negotiate it again later. Sell Argentina Physics for WM + 32 gpt + 45 gold. Sell Iro's Ivory for WM + 20 gpt + 20 gold. Sell maps around. Still can't buy Steam.

IBT: Embargo against us from Egypt and Persia ends.

[3] 930 AD - workers work. nothing much.
Buy India's WM for WM + 55 gold. We get in TM and WM sales about 300 back. Still can't afford Nationalism, steam or Medicine.

IBT: Embargo against us from Aztecs and Persia ends. Australia wants to talk; trade TM's? later this turn; not now.

[4] 940 AD - Found Isand 2. Sell TM + WM. nothing new.

IBT: Argentina declares war on Russia. Songhai declare on Argentina. Egypt and Argentina make peace.

[5] 910 AD - Sell Mag + Mil Trad to Argentina for Democracy + WM + 108 gold.

---------------------

I'm a bit disappointed I couldn't get Steam or Nationalism. It's now more a waiting game. Waiting for enough cash to buy Steam. Waiting for enough military to take some of Songhai's lands, waiting in the IBt for the PC to have calculated everything.

Anyway: good luck hotrod.

The save, 950 AD <zipped>

Sell Mag + Mil Trad to Argentina for Democracy + WM + 108 gold.
I am not sure why you wanted Democracy. We will never revolt to that goverment.

I'm a bit disappointed I couldn't get Steam
We need to start self-research. I looked at the game and science @60 (-113/turn) takes 45 turns for rails! I don't know what to do get out of this trap.

Hire 1 scientist to reduce the cost of techs we want to buy.
This won't have any real affect. The AI will discount based on how many dollars invested in the tech. $3/turn won't give much of a discount.

=====================================

I must admit the Zulu are a tough civ to expand with. We have to little options for targets to rotate between. I think we need to get a war going with anyone and ally with the Songhai against them to burn there troops up.

Might start out with alliance with Babs vs Songhai, or with Songhai against the Babs. The Babs have some good wonders to grab.

Might start out with alliance with Babs vs Songhai
The Songhai have the huge stacks by our borders. We can't touch the Songhai until we find an different nation for the Songhai to send them after.

There are only two ways for us to go. As Songhai is too big, concentrate forces on the other front, and invite the Songhai for a feast.

Just standing still, not expanding, and not researching is not really accomplishing anything.

Breaking out of Africa would give us more options, as well as some time for us to get hold of Rails, the holy grail of large maps.
