LK78 - Korea - Slow cooked deity

I concur. Considering they have the same bombard value as Artillery, they should have no problem redlining any units that Russia has if we use them en masse. Getting enough cavs to take out those redlined units could be the real kicker though.

Not much to report, it is getting close to now or never. As thing were built, I changed them to Trebs. I also swapped the two frontline cities to Rax, which got built. Once we got Metal, I went for MilTrad, we have 9 more turns to go. I upgraded all out Trebs and we currently have 9 H'watcha. If we can start the Golden age and absob the Russian first push, we can start building Cav sooner than the 9 turns.

BTW, just so Lee can pull more hair out, the Russians started ToE.

Are you sure you slowed tech down?

I did not start the war, but I would do so and get the GA going. I didn't want to throw the first stone and then leave someone hanging. The next set of turns should be very intense and will be the turning point of the game or the quick path to suicide.

Gee, uh thanks...
However, I may not pull the trigger. We may need cavalry before we risk the war.

Yes, but when a single civ controls Pyramids, both science wonders, Sistines, Sun Tzu and Bachs nothing will slow them down.

Maybe if this variant is played again, it might be wise to desable them?

[edit] The size of the map doesn't help either. When a civ lost a couple of twons it really hurt them. This should be played on a larger map to allow more give and take for the AI civs.

1600 AD
I don't feel we can beat infantry with knights and Hwach'as. I will set Microbe up for the final try.

==========================

Summary:
Russia is now at 65 / 64 . I got us up to 9 cavalry and 17 Hwach'as.

Microbe gets the final battle. Failure to declare war in 1655AD = LOSS.

preturn: we have to declare, but we are not really ready. I think we need to play defensive a bit, absorb the initial wave and then couter-attack.

I shut off research as we need cash to rush things. We'll not need any more techs. We'll finish with cavs, muskets and Hwach'a or never.

(1)1655AD: upgrade 3 knights and a spear.

(2)1660AD: We declare war but do not attack. IBT we lose only one musket, kill one cossack and retreat a few, but lots of cossacks and infantry enter our territory. Renew ivory/wines deal with Germany.

(3)1665AD: There are 28 cossacks around Paegam.

There are 3 1hp cossacks next to Manp'o. Our Hwach'a kills one and we enter GA. We are making +315gpt now. Cavs kill the remaining 2.

Bombard one stack of 12 cossacks. We clean this stack up (one retreated) with only a loss of longbow.

There are still 12 healthy cossacks around us, and a stack of 30 slow units next to Manp'o. Nothing we can do and the dyes will probably be pillaged.

Find an extra cav and kill an elite cossack.

I upgrade two more spearmen.

Russia is at 65/65. I do not MA with anyone as that might make it win faster.

IBT we lose Manp'o.

My shortest GA ever.

The loss sucks, but this not having a natural iron source pretty much doomed this one.

I think my screw up on this game didn't help as I think this was 80% water, not 60% as planned.
