Photokinetik makes the cartoon brightness go away, although it takes some tweaking .
Hotkeys make the city banners, unit icons and resource icons toggleable.
I play quite a bit with no icons on at all, just getting used to the districts and buildings without them .
It looks really nice and adds to immersion.
The photokinetic settings as is are too bleached. I fiddled a lot to get them right for me. You can do it in game and see the result of your selections.
