Lorde is excellent :)

My cousin is a hairstylist in New York and once did Lordes hair (I am not making this up)

I should hope you're not making it up. If you were making it up surely it would be something less mundane.

Kanye and Britney and Gaga and PSY were all more influential imo. The former two basically started the electronic pop infusion and whole synth pop, electronic pop, here's the drop pop, that helped get EDM exploding in popularity, which in turn helped resurrect the festival scene (see: Stronger). Plus 2017 saw rap finally eclipse pop and rock in numbers. Gaga's art pop vibe was aped by everyone for years, and even T Swift's new album and music videos still do. PSY basically pushed YouTube into full cultural zeitgeist and laid the groundwork for other Kpop groups like BTS and more to chart in the west.

Lorde's solid. Royals is one of her weakest so it's a shame it's played so much.
Britney and Gaga and the era of Kanye you mention is the decade before the past decade....

YCY how could you leave out SZA!!!

I think SZA's influence will be felt more in the future than it is now

also FKA twigs, tho I'm not her biggest fan. none of them would even be here without Erykah Badu though, she's a real OG

Yeah, but EDM was not a radio thing before them, pop station thing. Stronger and Breakout came out in the late 2000s, but a lot of 2010s EDM artists cite them as sort of establishing the genre in pop, so their influence on the 2010s is maaaaaaaaasive.

My cousin in a stylist who used to work in New York but is now based in West Hollywood. I don't know that he has ever cut Lorde's hair, but it would not surprise me. He has a lot of celebrities clients (including Taylor Swift, J.K. Rowling, Rachel Ray, Sally Fields, and Robin Wright; at Robin Wright does not trust anyone else with her hair, so she insisted he be hired for House of Cards and all the Amazons in Wonder Woman.) He has been on shows like Entertainment Tonight at least half a dozen times.
