LP1: That's the wrong end of the gun

incentive to kill Izzy quickly if you ask me.
:agree:

Cool! So I can stop pretending that I know what I'm doing and go back to my usual role as the knucklehead?
okay, as long as I get to keep my role as the idiot.

let's not worry about the 3rd party war and go grab a shrine. :bounce:

With the padawans on leave, do we want to do some sort of AW/rotating war variant? Once we declare war, we always have to be at war with at least one of the civs we've met? something of that nature?

My apologies team. I played the set but my report went kaplooie (and I didn't take notes on paper like I normally do).
Pretty much things went according to plan. Traded Paper to Izzy for Theo and swapped to Theocracy. Made two resource trades. Whipped some trebs and stuff. 3 of Izzy's meager 5 cities are on hills so they are labeled. Was pursuing PP but I don't really know why. Instead of 2 stacks I think we can send one to take her westernmost city before heading for Madrid and then mop up duty. I forgot to switch up espionage to all Izzy until the last turn. We should just about be ready to really take her out quickly by the end of the next set. A few turns from a GS for an academy in Nidaros.
My apologies again on the generally lousy reporting.

Anyway, the initial take:

Change PP to Philo which allows us to go for the Lib slinger or Nationalism and the Taj GA.

Change Jelling from treb to forge? I can produce the stone throwing device faster elsewhere and the forge will do us more good in the long run.

We need a settler for 2N of the unclaimed furs that are west of Roskilde.

When current builds are done, do a round of pike production. Check out who has ponies. Then back to zerks/trebs. Throw a forge or 2 in the mix.

AI flawlessly builds Cordoba on the iron. I'd like to raze it, but I'll plan to keep it.

@cripp - do you want some sort of derogatory nickname?

Well, I had the day off. Unfortunately, I spent it at the casino with  Wouldn't be prudent to play at this point. Give me another day.

@ Rex, if you could take care of cripp's nickname? you seem to have the talent.

I switched PP to Philo. Long story short, popped a GSci. Academy in Nidaros or Uppsala or bulb Education partway? Finish up in about 12 hours to allow some time for feedback.

Sorry for the delay. Pretty straightforward turns.

700 - Change PP to Philo

We need to decide if the time to declare war on Izzy has come. Here's the army

We should also revist a third party war between Otto and Suli.

Roster:
Nictel - gone?
dalamb - gone?
Norvin_Green - just played, sniveling complainer
Admiral Kutzov - played
Rex Tyrannus - up, knucklehead
cripp7 - The Fool on the Hill? Zaphod Beeblebrox? on deck

Looking at the save, we have enough to attack, in my opinion. If the group agrees, my plan will be to move troops next to Cordoba and declare. It's only defended by two longbows. Cordoba is under considerable cultural pressure, so I would probably raze it and later back-fill a city in that area after Ottoman is more correctly adjusted.

I doubt I'd get into the battle of Madrid my set, but that would be target 2. We still have no spies, so I'll likely spend most of my turns hammering down defense. Regardless, I will build a spy (probably whipped) somewhere.

Our eastern shores are lightly defended. I could see Izzy sending down a coupled of galleys worth of macemen or horse archers. I'll try to make sure each city has a longbow and that we have at least of couple of triremes in the area, if I can.

Biz wants CoL, Machinery, Civil Service, and Theology to declare on Sully. He might take less. Sully wants CoL, Engineering, Civil Service, and Theology to declare on Biz. They're both pleased with each other so the price is high.

I still don't see the value there, other than keeping them from stealing any of our Spanish province.

That's the preflight checklist. I'll play tomorrow. How many turns? 10?

10 turns is right. 15 got tedious.

The only reason to keep Cordoba is to keep a channel open to Spain.

go for it and declare.
