Here is a new experimental unit. Just have it work under the Modules/Units folder.

Lunar Rover
Graphic: Song of the Moon 2 (Use Lunar Surveyor)
Icon: (See Attachment)
Type: Wheeled
Strength: 50
Movement: 3
Cost: 550
Req Tech: Lunar Exploration
Req Resource: Automobiles AND (Oil Products or Biofuel)
Req Building: Aerospacial National Agency
Upgrades To: -

Special Abilities
  • Can Only Defend
  • Doesn't Receive Defense Bonuses
  • Can Withdraw from Combat (20% Chance)
  • Cost 10 :gold: Per Turn

@Hydro: I have all of your first batch working. Hooray!:woohoo:

They are still modular though, so if that's a problem could you or DH please merge them into the core so that I can work on the Nautilus and Lunar Rover? Thanks.
 
Well we might as well leave them modular for now. Not like other units are not modular too.

Ok some problems still.

Nakharar
1. It should require Armored Calvary not Mounted Archery and Ancient Ballistics.
2. Should have 1 first strike not 2.
3. No 25% vs Catapult, Trebuchet
4. No ranged attacks.
5. No range.
6. No Lead by Warlord promotion
7. Needs Commando promotion
8. Should require Armenian and Horse resource.
9. Should upgrade to Mailed Knight OR Cuirassier

In short it should have these stats ...

Nakharar

Icon: "World of Legends"
Type: Mounted
Strength: 11
Movement: 2
Cost: 90
Req Tech: Armored Calvary
Req Resource: Armenian, Horse
Upgrades To: Mailed Knight OR Cuirassier

Special Abilities
  • 1 First Strike
  • Immune to First Strikes
  • Doesn't Receive Defense Bonuses
  • +25% Grassland Attack
  • +25% Plains Attack
  • +25% Desert Attack
  • -25% Forest Attack
  • -25% Jungle Attack
  • -25% Swamp Attack
  • Can Flank Against Catapult and Trebuchet
  • Starts with Commando and Leadership Promotion

In short its should be Knight stats with some minor changes, not Horse Archer.

1. Still the wrong button/icon.

The Jaeger, Tiger Claw, Urumi Swordsman and Kallarani look fine so I will add them to the SVN. Please fix the Nakharar and Sacred Band.
 
Hydro, could you please upload that button as a dds for me, as it seems that the current btn_sacredband.dds icon is just a spearman icon. :confused: I've double-checked and my button in the artdefines is spelled right and all that.

Edit: oops, I used the wrong unit as template for nakharar. Good catch.

1. The button/icon files are still posted here.

2. From now on just make all new units modular, including the new graphics. If SO or DH want to merge them into the core later they can do it. Otherwise I think it will be easier for us just to make everything modular in the units folder (or in the alternative timelines folder for things like steam punk units).

3. I PMed SO requesting he change the other core stuff like removing the Waka or changing the Numidian Cavalry to Berber. In other words for new units I will go to you and for core unit changes I will go to him. This should keep his load light and yours less confusing.

4. Don't forget I still have another unit for you to do too beside the Nautilus and the Lunar Rover. This ...

@Hydro: I already did the changes t o Numidian cav, Indian fast worker, and tomahawk thrower. It's in the UnitTweaks file I posted on the previous page.

PS: what program do you use to edit DDS files? I tried GIMP but that doesn't work.

1. Let SO know and/or see your work in case he needs it to save him some time. Just know that the core files have been updated since them. For instance I changed all wheeled units to require BONUS_DIESEL OR BONUS_BIOFUEL recently. I don't want your update to undo that work. Thus SO should use whatever this the most recent SVN version and then add the appropriate changes.

@ Hydro, with your changes of units, you need to take out all references to the MAORI_WAKA also in your folder.

What references?

1. My changes were on Sunday the 5th.

2. Not that I know of. I am pretty sure it has to be DDS. Note I have found DDS is a common file type for games.

I like this as well.

EDIT: Hydro, here are the fixed Nakharar and Sacred Band. I'll get started on the next few units tomorrow.

EDIT2: Whoops, one more mistake corrected, Hydro, please redownload. :blush: Why on earth is the Mailed Knight called UNIT_CHIVALRY anyway:rolleyes:.

Hydro, do me a favor and add a "folder" for ls612 and place the units in there, that way he gets credit for them , just a way to make a person feel special is all, your choice though.:p:king:

Crap now I think i messed it all up since now they are in the ls612 folder and not the units folder. :(

Can you fix them strategyonly?

Can you make it so all your units work in the new ls612 folder instead of the unit folder?

EDIT: Hopefully Koshling can give you access to the SVN to edit it yourself. I just PMed him asking if he could give you access to editing he SVN.

Sorry, but I'm not quite clear about what is wrong with switching them between modules. At any rate, could you please do it, as I will be away from my modding computer until tomorrow? Thanks.
