I just cleared a ludicrous sized map (200x100) via domination victory @ standard speed on deity with Macedon in under 200 turns. I'm curious if anyone else has done this?
I'd also like to throw out a challenge: Win a domination victory with:
- Any civ
- All victory conditions enabled
- Ludicrous sized map (200x100)
- 25 civs, 37 city states
- Random civ opponents
- Whatever map you like (I chose Pangea)
- Restarting a turn for misclicks is ok
- I started the game just messing around to get my feet wet. I wanted a glimpse of the how it might be done. Around the midgame, I was tinkering with a knight in the red zone to see if he would survive an attack (I was fairly certain he would) and lost him (1 of 9 at the time). You get one tactical blunder restart.
- State mods you used after finish.
The mods I used are:
ALL DLC's
Rise & Fall
Religion Expanded
Larger Map Sizes
Production Queue
Resourceful2 Tamed
Tomatekh's Historical Relisions
Yet (not) Another Maps Pack
I've both tried it and succeeded exactly once, but from my experiences with the game, I think there is a fair chance of a loss when using a weaker civ than Macedon.
*With that having been said, I haven't seen a fondness for large maps on the board. I've also noted more than a few concerns about computer processor speeds. Before this post goes into the archive unchallenged, one last thing...I found that if you save the game and restart, the lategame "lag" from 75+ trade routes abates. Exactly as to why, I have no idea.
