MAC-01 Indonesia

I'm not at home so this is based off memory but the Mac App Store version is located in:

Library/containers/com.aspyr.something/library/application support/ can't recall what's next

Once you get to the point above you shouldn't have any problems locating the saves folder.

I'm not sure where Steam keeps they're saves.

Here's the path to the save files for the Mac App Store version:

A couple questions we need to consider.

lurker's comment: Optics!!! *bites butt*

Optional is right, we need Optics to be able to embark land units. In my opinion we should go Sailing right now to get out some Triremes (sp?) for exploration. The question is whether we want to follow Sailing with Optics , or wait and see what our Triremes find first. I'm currently not sure how much we need to prioritize Optics. As I recall Sailing will currently take us 13 turns to research, so we have until 2cool4civ's turnset to decide.

The other question is a worker, since it's going to be a while before we can make enough :gold: to buy a worker, it looks like we're going to have to hand build it. The question is when? We have five turns until the Monument is complete and thirteen turns until Sailing is done, so I'm tempted to build the worker prior to the Trireme. If not, then after?

Ah yes, Cupertino. The most picturesque city among the rice paddies of Silicon Valley. Its magnificence shall be the envy of all lesser technology-driven economies.

Hm, I guess settling on the small island would give us early access to one of the unique luxuries, but from the looks of it that really wouldn't be good for anything else.

Or does the other "continent" need to be separated from the homeland by at least one ocean tile? Not too sure actually.

One more thing, I left both the scout and the warrior unmoved, as I wasn't sure if we wanted to place them to keep the fog pushed back, or allow the fog so we can get some barbs to build up some xp.

It doesn't look like we're gonna have a need for promotions any time soon with these units. Checking out the save now, then will post some pre-turns thoughts.

In my opinion it's not worth settling there for the early resource.

How's things going?

Preturn ~ 3640 BC
* Selected Sailing to research.
* Moved warrior & scout. (thinking to keep moving along the coastlines to perhaps meet an AI passing by)

Turn 1 ~ 3600 BC
* Moved warrior & scout.

Turn 2 ~ 3560 BC
* Moved warrior & scout.

Turn 3 ~ 3520 BC
* Moved warrior & scout.

Turn 4 ~ 3480 BC
* Cupertino grows, +1
* Moved warrior & scout.

Turn 5 ~ 3440 BC
* Cupertino b. Monument, begin building Worker. Considered Shrine, but we can build it after the Trireme.
* Moved warrior & scout.

Turn 6 ~ 3400 BC
* Moved warrior & scout.

Turn 7 ~ 3360 BC
* Moved warrior & scout.

Turn 8 ~ 3320 BC
* Reach 25 :c5culture: - adopt Tradition
* Moved warrior & scout.

Turn 9 ~ 3280 BC
* Moved warrior & scout.

Turn 10 ~ 3240 BC
* Moved warrior & scout.

Recap:

Very quiet set of turns, as can be expected.

(1) Worker complete in 9 turns. Would we want to make this a prebuild after Sailing and begin a Trireme? We cannot improve any luxuries until we get Calendar or Masonry. With Masonry, we can improve 2 resources (Marble & Stone) and consider building the Great Pyramid. I vote for switching to Trireme and get some :c5gold: from meeting CS's.
(2) Looking at Cupertino's city tiles, would we want to consider buying the fish tile East of the city? It really doesn't give us more :c5food: / :c5gold: until we improve it with a work boat.
(3) Sailing in 1 turn; techs to consider next:
*Optics ~ Great Lighthouse & units can embark
*Writing ~ Library & Great Library
*Mining to Masonry ~ improve Marble & Stone
*Calendar ~ improve Dyes

I'm leaning toward Optics then Writing. My reasoning is we can build a unit while researching Writing and maybe get to some nearby ruins.

Sorry for the boring turn set. We may be stuck with that for a couple sets.

Thoughts...

I'm inclined to go Optics next mainly for the ability to embark units. I'm tempted to go with one Trireme and at least one unit. Scout would be faster, but also weaker towards barbs.

First off, put Cupertino on production focus. The reason being is that way on the turn the city grows it'll grab one of the hills which will net us 7 :hammers: this turn. If we go one more turn using the hill and then switch back to grass to maintain +3 :food: then we'll shave one turn off the worker. Is it worth it? I'm still not sure yet.

If we switch to a Trireme after completing Sailing then we can either maintain growth (+3 :food:/ 27 :food: total ) and finish the Trireme in 9 turns (8 turns before completing Optics), or use the hill (+1 :food:/ 7 :food: total ) and finish the Trireme in 7 turns. Honestly I'd rather have the additional 20 :food: over two turns shaved off of the Trireme.

If we completed the Worker instead we could get the Trireme completed at the earliest in 13 turns using the hill instead of grass. By the time we did this we'd have at least two grass to farm, but not much after that. The Worker would be complete and would have both grass irrigated around the time Optics is completed, so he'd be doing nothing for a bit. Though we'd have the extra food for faster growth.

In a way I want the worker to speed up growth, but at the same time I'd like to have the Trireme out earlier, so still on the fence at this time.

While Writing is nice, for the library (GL isn't even a consideration at this point IMO), I'm wondering what our priorities need to be.

Great placement on the scout and warrior. That's probably our best points of view.

It's yours now 2cool4civ. At this point you should first state that you 'got it' which indicates that you have the save and know its your turn. Secondly, discuss what your plans our during your turn set, or any questions you have for the team, or anything the team is still unsure about.

I vote for Optics as well. Embarking units and trireme exploring are things we can use right away, as opposed to a worker waiting on specific tile improvement techs.

Next player needs to be clear on city management here, if we make this move.

Trireme! :)

We should prioritize what we can take advantage of the soonest. A Trireme to explore. Optics for a unit to scout nearby landmasses. Meet Ai's and CS's.

this might be a stupid question, but where is the menu bar?

I hope that's what it's called! :lol: I've posted a screenshot of what I'm calling the Menu bar below. Are you using the Mac App Store version, or Steam? Depending on which version you are using will tell you where to put the save.

Edit: While holding down the option key, you'll see Library show up in the Go drop down menu. You can add it to your favorites so it shows in your Finder sidebar btw.

I guess we need to message 2cool4civ. ???

I meant to do that this morning, but forget. PM is now sent. Looks like he hasn't been online since:

Last Activity: Sep 09, 2013 09:55 PM

I'll give him until tomorrow night (24 hours from this post) and if he hasn't posted here by then we'll skip him this turn.

With no sign of 2cool4civ we'll go ahead and skip him this turn. Look's like its to you, EricTheGreat12. We're you able to figure out where the saves are stored?
