of mine from Civ2 Tech Support pages as I need PBEM help !

I need advice configuring saved Multiplayer PBEM games so I can run them on my Mac.

What file type info. do I need to apply to ".net" PC saved MPGE games - i.e. I need to know the correct 'Type' and 'Creator' info (e.g. in 'Hot Seat' games Type=Cv2H and Creator=Civ2). I've guessed that it might be Type=Cv2N/Creator=Civ2 9as ever)... but is this right ? (I'm using ResEdit to change file types/creator info).

Also, do I run these under Hot Seat or TCP/IP when I load up ? Part of the problem is that I can't run them as TCP/IP, as the computer i play Civ2 on has no modem (an old 7100/80), and the Mac I use for internet access (G3/500 Powerbook) is configured for audio only (lots of weird extensions etc) - I just move files between them on floppies

Hope someone can help !

Strange, I have MGE for Mac too, and when I open a saved game on it, there's no problem, no need to change anything it will open automatically for me. I fail to see why it doesn't work for you:confused: I have a Powerbook with a G3@233

YOU HAD MGE ON MAC! Why did you go through all that trouble to convert your TOT to MGE?

There are people like Henrik (and presumably Frunoblax by now) who can convert scenarios from PC to Mac in a few minutes.

Indeed - I had to convert W.i.n.t.e.r's Great Napoleonic Battles again the other week, when I moved computers, and did it in 10 minutes flat - easy when you know how !

The only way I managed to get the Mac MultiPlayer thing working was to move computers - my 7100/80 just doesn't like it, so I'm running single player stuff there, and on my PowerBook G3 am running Multiplayer stuff - but I still have to fire-up the G3's modem in order to open saved Multi games, then close it once they've launched.... no idea why really ! But at least it works !!

Fruno, hows about posting the details of how a PC2Mac conversion can be done in the PBEM FAQ thread. I'm sure it will come in useful to some potential players.

Okay - will do ! It'll take me a couple of days to write up, but sounds like a fine idea (I'm in the middle of a Great Napoleonic Battles PBEM with Winter, Case and Yop, so am a bit distracted with our negotiations over the fate of Frankfurt !! ;) )
