Hello,
Currently I have Civ IV for PC and I am running it on Vista. I also have a 2Ghz Intel Core Duo with 2 Gigs of RAM. I was wondering if Civ IV would actually run on my Mac through Vista. Civ IV for Mac doesn't work at all. The graphics chip is only an Intel GMA 950.
Thanks.

Yes, and quite nicely too! You may need to purchase an additional Window license.

Other people in this forum have Civ4 Mac running on the GMA 950 Mac Books (under OS X 10.4) without much difficulty, so you may want to describe your specific problem in detail.

What do you want to sticky? We have a sticky FAQ thread already. I have invited posters to add to it and suggested a standard format.

Thanks, I just wanted to get more opinions on it before I jumped out and bought a cheap version of Vista for my Mac. Like I said, right now I'm playing Civ IV on the PC in my household, but I won't be here for very much longer, so if I could take Civ IV with me and simply play it on my MacBook, the worry will be gone. Of course, I'm pretty weary on the Windows on Mac thing, because I hate Windows, but I'm under the impression PC games run well on a MacBook with the maximum amount of RAM through Windows and Boot Camp; opposed to buying Mac version of games for MacBook. A while back ago I downloaded the Mac demo of Civ IV and it wouldn't run at all.

I've got the Mac version of Civ4 and Warlords and they work well. I got more memory for my iMac a whiel back to improve things. It't hte non-Intel version, so it's the only choice for me.

Cheers.

Yes, but the sticky is a “FAQ for the Mac versions of Civ4” while questions about runing Windows Civ4 (on a Mac) seem to be asked (in this, the “Civ4-Macintosh” forum) about twice a week! Maybe if the word “Windows” was in the title of a sticky?
