Mad Scientist's RPC summary

I'm not so sure about sitting bull he has a bad habit of invading me, particularly when I don't have enough millitary.
He's always really really lucky as well

Concerning the next RPC. I think it will be

Gandhi the pacifist: Where gandhi cannot ever fight a war, even in defense. He is limited to 1 defensive archer percity (this may be promoted up the line though). He is prevented from adopting Police state/nationhood/slavery/serfdom/theocracy/vassalage. The thing is, to have any shot at pulling this off we definitely need to handpick some peaceful leaders. So let's have some suggestion..

Hatshepsut
Mansa Musa
Darius
Elizabeth
Washington or Lincoln
Pacal

Any other suggestions????

Awesome, I love pacifist games. I would also make "must run Pacifism or Free Religion when available, but may use Organized Religion prior to them being around" a rule.

Peaceful leaders:
Hatshepsut
Elizabeth
Lincoln
Frederick
Pericles
Mansa Musa

I would include ONE civ with mysticism, losing one religion isn't that big of a deal!

the problem is you don't know which religion they are teching all though out of the list above I find its either Asoka or Liz
is Lincoln more peaceful than FDR, I've never had Lincoln in one of my games

How about this for a ultra hard but interesting RPC?

Kublai and the Barbaric Mongolians

The rules for this RPC are simple. You may not adopt any civics beyond the default choice. Yes, you heard me. You must stay an uncivilized, pagan, barbaric, despotic civilization.

I would not include any other rules, as it would make the game too hard. Anything is fine, as long as you don't adopt any civics!

I would also give the possibility of letting you run the "Government" branch of civics, to make the game not impossible.

So you what do you think? It'd be pretty hard but cool, I think.

There are some other leaders you could do it with if you had another idea for Kublai...

Pacal and the Barbaric Mayans
Ragnar and the Barbaric Vikings (I know you've played them once, but a replay would be fitting for here)
Hammurabi and the Barbaric Babylonians (for a twist of irony)

I can understand though if you wouldn't want to play this. I tried, I lost all 5 attempts at it

I really like that idea except I have a very good idea for Kublai later. Kublai, bastard illegitimate grandson of the mighty Khan. Must repeat the Great Khan's glorious first RPC using similar but a little different rules. He has to run a mine/farm economy (No SE and No cottages, similar to the Brennus game). Most likely the LAST RPC leader I play to come full circle from the Mighty Khan's game.

But I like the Barbaric angle! No civics, ever! And I think it ironic to use Pacal, he looks like a wimpy kid, but has the heart fo a bloodthirsty animal!

Hammarabi will be Lawless Hammarabi where he has to play the game without even teching Code of Laws.

Hammurabi game sounds cool. And also cool about Kublai!

It'd be good with Pacal and the Mayans, they were quite barbaric at times...plus Pacal has very strong traits to help with the hard rules. :D

I just wanted to update with a list of potential future RPCs, listed in no particluar order

1) Amazon Queen Boudica: A Pangea Map where she has to vassal one male, and kill the other(s).

2) GREED: Mansa Musa must maintain a gold profit from the slider. He also must found all 7 corps (or seize them if he misses one) and control at least one of each resource.

3) Fisckel Isabella and the Seven Holy Grails: She must either found or seize all 7 holy cities, revolting to the newest religion each time.

4) Rammses the Intolerant God-King: He must found Christianity, revolt to theocracy, and destroy every city on the map that does have his faith. Open border NOT an option until an AI has converted to Christianity. HE can only spread Christianity to his own cities via missionaries.

5) Justinians Crusade: A classic Crusade to kill or convert the unbelievers. A More military version of the CHarlemagne game. Any religion will do, and war is emphasized. The last of the three remaining Religious games I have.

6) Lawless Hammarabi: The true historical Hammarabi who never really founded any laws, Code of Laws is forbidden to tech or trade for. USe your imagination how th lawless leader would act!

7) The barbaric Mayans: Pacal is a crazy child! He must win by NEVER adopting any civics other than the defaults!

8) The Surymanan Clones: Playing Sury against 6 cloned Sury's on a fantasy map. A crazy and insane world where the real Sury (me) has 2 choices, kill the others or fleed into space.

Those are the ones I have right now. I do have the last three of my series although I am not sure of teh order yet:

A) Sitting Bull goes Native: A tree hugger version similar to Slobbering Bear. No chooping, no polluting building, environmentalism is a must! No initiating wars. Impossible? We shall see.

B) Abe Lincoln loves NY: The third and final of my OCCs, renaming the capital the NEW YORK and playing for a Space Race win (Alpha Centuri or bust!).

C) Revenge of the Khan: Kublai Khan must follow in his grandfather's footsteps, a burn baby burn game. Enough rule changes to make it interesting though, generals are freely used, but cottages are forbidden. A Farm/mine economy!

Please any suggestions are welcomed. Some vauge ideas I have for some others

DeGaulle: A French Revolution minded game where he must liberate any vassals and and fight against despotic leaders.

Hatshepsut: Looking to get 6 cities to legondary status, however she can only rely on heiroglyphics, therefore the alphabet is a forbidden tech (I confess I got the idea from a forbidden Realms game).

Organized Fred: (Again, got the idea from a different posted RPC game here): Fred must found a certain number of cities that are specialized to a certain task. Science, Money, production, military, espionage. Still thinking, but certain cities should be limited to certain buildings.

And there are leaders who I have absolutely no ideas for

Elizabeth
Both Ottomans
Zara
Qin
Hannibal (ideas have been posted, refresh my memory)
Gilgamesh
Darius

My apologies if I missed any.

Ideas can be based on history (Such as Julius Caesar fighting the leaders of his time), Our AIs unique personality (Such as insane MONTY the MAD Scientist), testing out a strategy (OCCs, TE, CE, wondespamming), or an interesting story line (Joao's unrest, Mao)

Thanks for any help!

The RB crew played through a Monarch, Emperor and Immortal game with no civics (As Huayana, Alex and Toku, resp.?) on vannila a while back.

Idea for someone (another variant done by the RB crew ), Sitting Bull, build no culture whatsoever other than the Palace (and FP citry if you want). Perhaps not historically accurate, but I don't know who it might apply to.

Elizabeth the Queen

Map: Terra
Civs: Ragnar, Charlemagne, Isabella, Louis, and Catherine

Queen Elizabeth has 5 goals to achieve in her reign.

Religious Unity and Tolerance

Elizabeth must use shrewd negociations and force to convert all AIs to the same religion or all must convert to Free Religion.

Golden Age of Culture

Elizabeth must run a Artist Economy and use her artists to create great plays in London and create golden ages.

London's Superiority

London must be the top city in the world with at least x culture.

The Downfall of France

Elizabeth must conquer or vassalize Louis. Paris must be razed to the ground.

The New World

Elizabeth must be the first to found a city on the new world (named Jamestown).

I actually like the idea of Liz on a Terra Map. Not sure about killing teh French off (that idea fizzled in the Annoying French). Perhaps the opposite of the Joao game, build a massive empire in the new world and spin it off as ONE large empire. I also like the idea of LONDON's culture, perhaps a culture game for teh future.

Thanks!

No culture! Sounds like a challenge. Perhaps one of teh Ottomans there!

I'm glad to see you do this one! lol I hope it goes better for you then it did for me. I'm not as good at RPCs a you are.

Qin has already had an idea set, for "Cowardly Qin". I think it is one the previous page :)

Anyway, two more suggestions, but not the best ones. I also posted these in the Ragnar thread.

Mehmed II (I have no idea what a good title would be)

Mehmed holds a strong hatred towards the Byzantines. He wishes to destroy them. However, he is also envious, and secretly wishes to own the city of Constantinople, and not raze it to the ground as he has said to his fellow Ottomans.

Rules:
You must take over Constantinople
You must then rename your capital to something else, and rename Constantinople, Istanbul
You must eventually (but not immediately) change your capital to Istanbul (Constantinople)
You must also wipe out the Byzantines entirely

Could use some more rules, but the basic concept is good. (it is taken from history after all ;))

De Gaulle (I also have no idea what a good title would be)

You could try and make sure the game lasts and focuses heavily on late game gameplay (perhaps purposely limiting yourself and your empire) and modern units. You could also handpick the leaders of Roosevelt, Stalin, Churchill, Mao and Gandhi for a 20th century twist.

Rules: Must make the game last and focus heavily on the late game, perhaps purposely limiting your empire so the game remains interesting and close till the end and the Modern and Future Era.
Rules: May not wipe out any civs before the Modern area (and should try to get other civs to go to peace if it looks like it will happen)
Rules: Must pick Gandhi/Roosevelt/Stalin/Churchill/Mao as opponents

I also like your idea for De Gaulle. Either would be nice I think.

As for Suleiman, use him for an idea where you have no idea what leader to do it with.

Maybe the no culture game? (which may be hard with religions in the beginning)

You also forgot Wang Kon.

I must admit though, I have no idea what the RPCs for the following could be about:

Zara (Certainly not another zealot game)
Hannibal (Uh...)
Gilgamesh (Gilgamesh is awesome but I have no idea)
Darius (All I know is that he's very overpowered)
Wang Kon (Korean reunification? Add in another Wang Kon and Korea?)

I would love to see a game in which you try a cultural victory without building wonders or cathedrals and try mainly with corporations.

@ semirami: that doesn't sound very hard compared to some of the other RPCs mad has done

I am reluctant to focus an RPC on just a UU, or the UU era. Too easy to see it go down in flames, and I think Suliman deserves a really high quality idea, after all he is not called the Magnificant for nother.

Perhaps some idea about kingly rule, HR all game, STate Property (it's the King's land dammit). And his traits scream SE (settled GGs) and some rather aggressive expansion.

Also regarding the difficulty, I am actually progressing better at emperor in my off-line games and may consider some of the stronger leaders at emperor. The Mansa Musa game is probably one. Liz, Darius, Zara, and water map Hannibal are overpowered leaders so they may be good candidates. Gilgamesh may or maynot be an emperor game, but we shall see. I can always replay the leader at monarch if I fall flat on my face.

Wang Kon I forgot (I always seam to do that!). I sort of view him as another isolationist like Tokugawa but with a strong financial trait and UB. We have had enough isolated starts, and the English Bulldog showed how to leverage that protective trait for a space race win. I'll keep toying with ideas on him, playing a no trade/ no openborders game can get pretty dull.

Non isolated isolationist game could be a good idea. :goodjob:

Wang Kon is actually one of my favorite leaders, coupled with the Korean UB.
