i just recently bought this for PS2 and i thouroughly enjoy it. i just wanted to know how my fellow civfanatics feel about it. plz vote and explain how you feel.

my concern is with the new "playmaker" mode. i never have enough time use this. instead im trying to run and not get tackled or throw and not get sacked! itd be better if it actually paused while you did it but thatd take to much time.

I liked the 2002 version, never got 2003, and I probably won't get 2004. But it looks good.

BTW, there's an All Other Games forum where this thread belongs. :)

I played it at my friend's house and it just seemed the same as 2003. The graphics seem a tad better though

wow an NFL game?
is it as long and boring as the real thing? :D

EDIT: I hope that the players wear tight tights and 80s power-woman shoulder pads just like the real thing too :)

I have NCAA because I like college football more and its fun to have a ton of teams, but I would recommend madden because overall it is more balanced.

never did get 2003. i got 2002 and now 2004. i try to give a year between sports games. like last year i got NCAA 2003 and ill probably get NCAA 2005 :) keeps the games "fresher".

i think that madden and NCAA both have the same basic game engine with a few tweaks on either side.

that said im planning on getting Madden. the mutil-play option looks to have been enhanced quite a bit. there nothing like playing Madden with my boys from school just like the old days, even if they are in NY or Chicago.

can anyone tell me what the "playmakers" thing is all about?

its kinda hard to explain. on the game menu they have a "Madden 101" which explains the new features but basically it allows you to change ur play on the fly. you can change a recievers route or adjust the blocking while you are playing.

I just recently purchased NCAA Football 2004 for the X-Box, but I may end up getting Madden as well. I understand that they've revolutionized the AI for it.

From what I've heard, the AI won't be able to complete long passes in the midst of quadruple coverage anymore, no matter how far behind they fall. Also, you won't be able to exploit the AI with the same play over and over again - you hit a WR wide open a few times and the AI will start to double-team him. If the AI is all they're billing it to be, it could be worth the purchase price.

its pretty cool , i think the owner mode is a bit much but I guess its fun if youre into that. being able to improve your guys in mini camp is cool, and i thought the players were very well rated. overall this game is pretty badass I have few complaints, except that the controls just keep getting more and more complex and its at the point where its almost too much of a good thing

my favorite is the owner mode! i love moving my teams to crappy cities like the Bismarck Colts :)
