MadV1

I would reroll some start then. AP is very unbalanced. You would likely need 2 1/2-3 workers per city to keep pace.

these are other starts

lurker's comment: Start one is better simply because it has a food bonus, but I would like to see you guys play number two. It looks like it is much more interesting. :)

Mad V--if you don't want the easy way out move it up a level. ;)

MadV, whatever start you want to keep (AP, difficulty, whatever is on) just load the save, then push ctrl+shift+Q (new game) and push the "Play last World" button. Change AP, difficulty, civs, victory conditions, barbs, anything to your liking, and there you go. It also works the same if you enter a seed and remember it, along with the physical properties of the map.

Whomp, if we win this game easily. We can try 80% archpilago, cool, hilly and dry

on Monarch.
That's the easiest map to win on, actually.

After much deliberation, I think I'd like to offer up my services, if you'll have me of course. This seems like a good game to see if I am ready for CFC again.

Once upon a time I was a marginal player. Of course, that was almost a year ago now. My RL has settled down, and the itch has returned, as I knew it would. :mischief:

As far as the particulars, I'd prefer the game to be at Monarch, or even emperor, but I'll tag along whichever way. I repeatedly found that its quite easy to play a couple levels above your solo skills in an SG due to the discussion and attention you give each turn (hopefully, that is :crazyeye: ).

The first start seems much easier, since you get an automatic 4 turn factory there, IIRC, because of the AGR trait. The second start isn't horrible though, since there seems to be more rivers and BG's available, which somewhat mitigates the mountains and lack of food bonus. Geographically, they're the same, with traces of tundra in both. That could be good if we luck upon some furs though.

I guess I'll assume the rules are standard fare? 24/48, LKendter's rules, etc?

This is C3C right? Then I'll join, wouldn't mind to turn up the level a notch though.
Don't mind which start to play. Most look ok. Besides one should be able to play and win on any given start.

The starts are awful on those conditions, Viking, but they are for the AI too, and you can reload until you find a decent one, so that they have all the questionnable starts.
