Manufacturing Treason

Tucker Carlson is all about ratings. Nothing else actually matters to him. He will say whatever he needs to to keep is audience numbers high. With FoxNews it is all about the money.

He's all about the fascism and white suprememcy. The ratings chase is just in service to that.

It seems a little over-convenient that Carlson's ideological interests should so perfectly align with the economic incentives of news media, insofar as that coincidence relieves us of the burden of explaining where a self-indulgent fancy lad like Carlson developed the level of ideological discipline require to withstand those economic incentives, when they exercise such an evident influence on the output of every other news pundit. I'm possibly more prepared than Birdjaguar to attribute to Carlson a genuine sympathy for reactionary racist politics and to allow that this has helped steer his output into his current niche, but to argue that his show is unique among news-tainment shows in being an ideological project first and foremost seems to demand some special evidence.

He wouldn't be on the air if white supremecy wasn't in the interest of Wall St in the first place.
