Before I finish this one, I welcome any feedback, especially about Ireland, England, Germany, Netherlands, Belgium, Austria and Spain (or their parts that show in the map).

Note this will be a basic map of the area. The people who would like to use it for scenarios will need to change some terrains (forests mostly such as the Landes, or the more wooded Gaul).
Forests as such have not been included yet to give a better view of the different terrains.

I like it. It looks odd without forests, but should look better once you put them in. Ireland looks slightly untextured though. I'm not sure, but doesn't it have a lot of hills? BTW, check you PMs.

Ireland is completely untextured at the moment. Pb is I am not even sure whether it is useful on that map ? I guess I should keep it anyway but not sure yet about the landscape.

Nice map. A few things I noticed:

Mountains: Italy is filled with them, but you only put hills. =Italy needs mountains.
I would put a few mountains in Wales and Spain, but its really a matter of taste.

Hills:I think there should be more hills especially in France, its gives a more realistic feel IMO, also more variation in the terrain.

Plains: Most of Spain really should be Plains instead of Grassland. Same for Italy, exept the Po valley.

Ireland seems a bid to big.

Thats all for now:)

BTW, there are volcanoes in France but they are more useful for purifying water rather than famous for their lava...
Should I put them in ?
In case you did not get my point, IMHO, they should not be but you can vote for one choice or another now.

Seems reasonable. These areas were not finsied actually (or not even done (Ireland)).

I won't change hills so much since I have spent quite some time making them as accurate as possible (and I do believe they are) for France).

This area is Northern Spain so it is mostly "wet" because of the sea, or the mountains or the Ebra river. But it definitely needs some plains, same for Italy. Both are now done.

Yep, remember you told me already. I tend to gree but don't really know why (it should be this size)

I like the area displayed on the map. Could be useful for many other scns in Europe. BTW, how big is this map?

100 X 100 as most of my maps (not on demand).

France should be OK now (not this preview) but I wonder what I should do with Germany.
Especially are there areas that should be plains instead of grassland (and except for the aesthetically pleasing ones) in Germany ? I know the coastal areas would be but here there is just inland and eastwards of the Black forest I don't really know where the "poor" areas would be.

If you make this a map for a game that starts 6000 years ago then you should convert about 99% of your grassland to forest. Man have cut down a lot of forest these past thousands of years.

And if you make it for C3C you should add some marshes, in the Rhône delta, for example.

This would be a nice map to have mountains impassable. :D

Forests. I know, don't be afraid. Albeit there is no way to make it accurate for both 4000 BC and for the 100 years' war era.

Done for the marshes (albeit not finished). There should be more in ancient times too.

That is the idea, there are corridors (hills) through the mountains in the Alps. Other alternative, make them mountains with a road already included but that would be for scenario only and could be pillaged.

Im not sure Ireland is it's real size. It simply looks to big. I say, cut off one grassland all the way around the coast, that should do the trick:)
