C3C finally arrived and it plays amazing on my dualcore 2 GHz powermac, but if i load any scenarios or maps, i get a tiny bit of lag and choppiness in the music on the first turn!

why is that? the first turn plays worse than a randomly generated huge map in the modern era. it is weird.

oh, and where can i find a bunch of cool maps/scenarios for C3C mac to download?

No idea about your first turn lag, other than the game is probably doing a lot of working out where things are, and a scenario gives it estra work to do. When in the first turn do you experience it? If that's your worst problem ....

Have you looked for scenarios in the C&C forums? Your main issues will be:

(a) some come in .exe installers that won't run on a Mac, so you need a PC or VirtualPC or a Boot Camped Intel Mac to unpack them.

(b) the current version of C3C is a bit iffy about finding the bits of a scenario, depending on how the mod maker has set it up. So some need to have the scenario files put in strange places, or copies of built-in files made in other locations.

Alan, I have run into the same short choppingness problem with Civ3C on both of my Macs that can run it. I suspect that it is just the computer loading the software and sounds at the same time. One Mac is an older upgraded Power Mac, with a Radeon 9000 video card, which does not always have the choppyness that my IBook, with a 32 mg video card has.
