Strategy Only,
What exactly are you wanting?

Like in the 1st Post, you have the Height chart(Ocean/Coast/Hill/Peak/valley), then you make the terrain chart(desert/plains/Thundra/grassland), then the Feature chart(Forest/Jungle/etc). Those are what i need. Always good to have the best from the best , if you know what i mean.

Stategy only,

I'll try to get you some of my notes shortly.

Here are some screenshots:

Looking very, very nice Flash. Great work! All your effort has paid off - this is an extraordinarily beautiful map. :)

I'll be back with some more specific and useful comments, including stuff on terrain placement, once I've had long enough to familiarise myself with the map. ;)

thats ok, but i dont need the notes all i need is the BMP's you used to make the map, sorry if i didnt make it clearer.
ALso i need the one where they are all together on "ONE" BMP, OK?
I dont know how to put BMP's together, havent got that far in learning yet, sorry.

Use MS Paint...? ;) :)

Strategy only,
I used JPEG. Oh, hmmm, should I release source maps....J/k

Strategy only,
I just thought of this. I made this map by hand. So, my two source maps are 2560 pixels x 2560 pixels each. I used a grid that Paint Shop Pro 7 put on top of the image. The grid was put at 20 x 20 pixels = 1 Civ IV map tile.

OK thx anyways, i thought you were using BMP converter, but anyways great job so far.

Alright darn it. The civ IV editor is a pain. I now have to clean up all the forest tiles in the ocean. LOL

Okay, this is a minor map correction. The worldbuider doesn't work quite right with this map and added forest echo terrain in the coast or ocean quares. I thight I fixed them all.

Update,
On medium graphics and single figure units, this map is eating around 800 MBytes.

Pretty easy. Just load up the first JPG in Paint, extend the width of the board, load up the second JPG, copy and paste. Nothing to it really. :)

Lord P.,
You goofball. You had to change my map and make it Pacific centric didn't you. LOL

Well how do you like the map?

Question for all those who have checked out my map. The actual scale which I should of checked out before should be 256 x 120.

I will be willing to remake the map a little smaller if everyone thinks it will be better.

I have already found out that this map is eating 800 MB.

When I get to putting in resources a thought occurred to me. Should I add horses to the new world or make those civs trade for them from the old world?

Flash1, please wasting time posting here constantly and focus on your map, you have be advertising it forever now and you still don't have one. You are driving me insane!

Kronosbud,
The map is basically finished, thank you very much. If anyone wants the resources or goodie hut, all one needs is to open the cheat menu in the worldbuilder. If you want more specific placement of items then you will have to wait a little bit. there are after all 32,768 squares to consider.

So, just download the zip file and look at it then you can add more constructive comments which is what I'm looking for. This is not a quick project and I want it done right. There will probably be tweaks along the way, but so be it. I'm not advertising, but if you paid more attention you would see that I have struggled with certain issues and wanting feedback in order to provide a proper map.

Hmm, sorry, I'd sort of forgot about this thread. Hopefully I'll be able to get back to you on the map soon. :)

A question though: what program (if any) are you using to convert the JPG's to Civ4 maps? I'm thinking of starting a few maps that way myself, and I'd like to have your recommendations on the program. :)
