Master of the Universe

Interesting, just checking the log file reveals I've built every wonder out there... except the Great Lighthouse.

Does anyone actually build that?

That was the second last wonder (not counting DLC wonders) that I built (had more to do with higher AI priority to build than mine than the usefulness since I play on water maps). The very last one I built was Great Wall.
There's two DLC wonders I've not yet built: Temple of Artemis [AI starts with the tech for that so they beat me at my latest attempt again; I just got out the time machine to make a different decision] & Statue of Zeus [I've not even tried to build that]

achievements_debug.log file in the Logs directory.
It lists every wonder, so you should see the zero in the one your missing. Note that you don't need to build the DLC wonders for the achievement.

Also, you'll need to check your config.ini file:
Search for LoggingEnabled, if its zero change to 1 and save.

; Enable the logging system
LoggingEnabled = 1

Also, that file is only updated on startup.

Thanks. Strange btw, but a lot of wonders I've constructed are not counted yet. Does the advanced options have any impact on this?

No, advanced options have no affect on achievements.

But, if your playing with any mod, you don't get credit.

Also, the file sometimes gets stuck when there's an update; if you see a last update timestamp of sometime in 2011, then delete the log file so it can re create it.

For units; you also have to build the unit directly rather than upgrade from a previous unit (or acquire from CS) to get credit.

I just got Wonder Years. Angkor Wat was apparently what was left.

And yeah, british navy is pretty sick too. But the purchasing of tiles is not really hard if you just aim for it half way in a game where you have a lot of gold and still some cheap tiles to buy.

If you want to go after the achievement for the British navy, you can tweak the starting settings as described in the Ruler of the Seas thread that I posted a while ago....

Thanks for the advice, but the Wonder thing is not working for me. Units, Roads and forests are updated in the log, but building a wonder doesn't get registered.

I don't build the great lighthouse often. But when I do its in multiplayer. It tends to be a later wonder and only if I go as Denmark/England/Spain/Polynesia/Japan. You get a free lighthouse as well so its better to go ahead and grab with one of your coastal cities.

It could become an easy to grab wonder for Carthage with its free harbors. Production/food from fish/gold would allow easier grabbing of it.

I got Master of the Universe on January 26... of last year (2011). As you can see, I was quite addicted to the game as I started playing the Collector's Edition the day it arrived at my house (on release day); I even took the day off from work in anticipation.

It may be considered cheating, but I worked my way up from Settler and now play on Prince. I have logged 726+ hours since my last session, which tends to only be on weekends now.

After a hard-fought effort, I finally got a diplomatic victory with the Arabs. It was mostly a money victory, but I did use strategic diplomacy. I liberated a city-state after working with the Inca to carve up Siam. In the end, the Indians had more money than me by far, so I had to use the somewhat cheap strategy of declaring war on them to block them from taking back the city-states (interestingly, my liberated city-state started fighting me with Mech Inf. I gave them, but they still voted for me).

Anyway, with that victory, I have successfully won with every single one of the original Civilizations. I am now Master of the Universe! Anyone else get this achievement? Who was your final civ to play as?

Good job on all that mastering, but have you mastered the Roman world yet? It's a much more vicious place, so I hear.
