Matrix1 - Ziggurat Addiction

PPP meaning?

Also, having a city named Pink Dot is definitely a SG classic in my book. I thought every SG had a Pink dot somewhere, that it was an unavoidable location, and it went without saying that its name would be Pink Dot something. Then again, it might go into the "Idiot has been" clause along with not knowing what PPP means.

lurker's comment: PPP means Pre Play Plan (or Pln if you're a Nac MacFeegle). Pink dot I think is a Sulla original, denoting a game winning city IIRC

PPP is pre play plan in my strange little world

xpost with Brian

search "Sid Vicious and The Magnificent 7+1" SG in C3 to understand the full significance of the pink dot.

PPP = pre-play plan, an acronym I just learned a week or so ago

I don't know what the next Babylonian city name in the queue should be, but I'm pretty sure the game will just offer us "Eridu" again, since we didn't use it for our 2nd city.

So obviously, our next city must be called Pink Dot Kish.

I'm pretty sure the game will just offer us "Eridu" again, since we didn't use it for our 2nd city.
nah, what IO said. i renamed it. next city should be Kish. Let it plant, then rename it.

I'll clean off the dot mapping when I play. Where should I apply the :whipped:?

PPP:
Uruk: Archer > Worker > Monument > settler
Amazing Eridu: Monument > Granary > archer
Pink Dot Kish: Monument > Granary > archer

Research:
Meditation > Poly > Priesthood

Open borders with Shaka and Qin for trade routes.

Probably on the next settler from Uruk, then no more whipping there until the zig. Eridu and Kish should be left to grow, I think. Eridu having a monument isn't exactly urgent, as it doesn't need a border pop to grab a resource. Well, perhaps we might want to whip Kish's monument later, when it has enough people to do so. Faster copper is faster vultures is faster dead barb city is faster cow for Kish. And faster horses from Qin. :mischief:

The agressive stance it is, then. Fun times ahead :ninja:

Forgive the ignorance, but why a monument in the capital? Also, why not let it ride its pop to 7 before the settler? In my short-sighted opinion it would have been better to go grow through archer>archer>settler without a monument or :whipped: to keep high yield and cottaged tiles, so I'd gladly like to hear a rebuttal.

Also, Eridu does need a border pop for cows which would make a hell of a third tile, thus making it a whippable priority in my tiny book. Again, counter-arguments welcome.

I beg to differ, with respect. whip out the monuments asap except in the cap. then grow the cities. so many more options

EDIT: what B said too

Because we're charismatic, so the monument gives us more happy. Though I wouldn't have put it so high in the priority if it didn't already have hammers put into it.

We're Charismatic. Monuments give +1 happy. Because we're just so dashing and beautiful, you know.

damned ninja...

How do turtles ninja, anyways?

WAIT LOL NINJA TURTLE

T107 - Open borders with Shaka for trade
T108 - Settle Kish
T109 - Meditation in, start Poly, rename Kish to Pink Dot Kish
T110 - Archer finished in Uruk and sent to Pink. Start on a worker. Our fogbuster on the River Twine kills a warrior. Since he was barely hurt, I left him unpromoted for now.
T111 - Uruk worker finishes the fp farm. Send him to make a road to Pink, then mine the grasslands hill.
T112 - Monument finishes in Amazing, start on Granary. Whip the worker in Uruk.
T113 - Send worker to chop grassland hill 1S of copper to get the monument up.
T114 - Monument is up in Uruk. Switch to Archer. Gold is up in Amazing. Send worker 1S to mine the Plains hill.
T116 - Polytheism is in. Switch to Priesthood. Washington of Egypt has moved into WHEEOHRN.
T119 - Pink is hooked up to Uruk. Archer finished in Uruk and Settler started.
T120 - Priesthood is in. Monument finished in Pink and Zigg started. Question - do we switch to Ziggs in Amazing and Uruk to, or finish what they have started? And if the latter, does Uruk finish the Settler and the Granary (which had 8 hamers invested in it at the start of my turnset) or just the Settler that's at the top?

I put Alphabet into Research as a placeholder.

Switch to zigs immediately.

It's not a placeholder when it's the last thing we have to research before going :espionage:

Darn... probably should have micromanaged to make research take an extra turn so the granary in Amazing could be whipped. :P
