Max's Succesions Games : #1

Since you only got to do 5 turns before, how about... 25 turns for you? Not too much more, but not to little i say. We'll have a vote though.

I think Spzoti is next, but he had also moved as he said so he's probably still busy, so I guess it's Ermac's turn now.

Btw Ion Mage: I uploaded the files to our private clanserver, because that was a lot less hassle than using the upload option in the forum. I'm sorry, but it's no free hosting service :(

Dont worry, ill just do what agamemnus said, and upload to the uploads server (even if its very slow....)

Preturn - Persepolis changed to Bach since Copernicus is built.
The aztecs don't even have a city near us why are we at war with them? Just causes weariness. I make peace with them and get their WM and 5g

1) 1050 - bactra pike-aque, istakhr library-market, jinjan library-barracks
We can be trading with a crapload of other civs for luxuries, why aren't we?? Trade dyes+silks to India for Gems, dyes+silks to Egypt for Wines. I drop luxes to 10% and now most of our cities will be in WLTKD.

2) 1060 - Taurus univ-aque, Aztec complete Bach. Germans complete Smith. Egyptians start magellan's. Joan's sending a galley towards poorly defended ghulaman, so I trade her silks for 19gpt to hopefully give her incentive not to attack. I decide my #1 goal will be to destroy the romans so that we don't have to worry about them in the long term and can take their land for an eventual assault on the egyptians.

I think we need to take the Egyptians out of the picture because they're the biggest civ and if we can gang up a bunch of others against them we will be in a much better position in the endgame.

3) 1070 - England/rome sign peace, germany zululand sign peace. Persepolis gets changed to cathedral :( Egypt sure has a lot of knights roaming around. Egam`Noi warrior-library, sidon immortal-immortal, Ghulaman harbor-pike. Egyptians complete magellan's.

4) 1080 - Persepolis cathedral-bank.Behistun warrior-library. Move stuff around.

5) 1090 - Rome/Egypt sign peace. Gordium caravel-immortal.

6) 1100 - We get Physics. I turn off research. I trade physics to Egypt for a huge chunk of cash and tech. I trade it around to a few other people for money and luxuries. I got for Magnetism as that will most likely fetch a high price on the trading market. Lungundum worker-library. Sideon immortals-immortals. I'm moving our various units into position to attack rome once we get a big enough army.

7) 1110 - Zulus threaten us for silks, I tell him to p1ss off. He complies. Iona Magus temple-library. artaxata worker-library.

8) 1120 - zzzz

8) 1130 - susa knight-knight, arbela aque-barracks, gordium immortal-barracks, sidon immortal-barracks. We lose our furs from France. C'est la vie.

9) 1140 - Aztecs and india sign peace.

10) 1150 - Rome and india ally vs. Germany. Pasargadae bank-knight. Kandahar founded by saltpeter up north. Barb camp disbanded.

I only got time to play 10 turns. I think because of personal issues i'm going to need to drop out of this game. Good luck to you guys.

Thanks for at last ending the War with the Aztecs which should have ended one turn after I was finished! Trading physics was not a good idea. No Cavalry yet, I suppose?

I'll have to do it myself, I guess... and kill the Egyptians... before the Egyptians get INFANTRY!

Bonjour mes amies, my turn again.
No war going on, that's nice. Changed marketplace in Sardis into courthouse. Planning to build some new workers so we get the jungle cut down as quickly as possible. We need a FP soon, the waste is just too big. I will rush-build courthouse in Sardis soon and then start work on FP.

1: Moved units into position to attack Rome. I guess that's why so many of our units are wandering around there.

2: Good news! The loyal Egyptian citizens of Oryx want to become Persian. I can't reject their proposonal and let them peacefully join our empire. Moving our troops into position to attack 3 Roman cities next rounds.

3: Bampur builds Settler. I don't know where it's supposed to found a city, so I sent it closely to the border with Zululand and will set some cultural pressure on them. I was wondering why our units are outside of Roman territory but then I remembered that I accidently clicked "OK, we'll leave" when Caesar asked us to :) So we're bringing them back into position to attack next round.

4: Nicomedia is destroyed by 2 Persian immortals. Our territory grows, so we might consider building a city there in the future. But for now I don't think it's too productive, mybe once we get our FP. Brundisium is captured after littler resistance.

5: Hispalis is captured by us.

6: Running science very low to get some cash in and build courthouse in Sardis. Starting Marketplace after and going to rush it too, so it's easier to keep people happy. FP next.

7: Bah, waiting time between turns is awful. Altin Tepe founded between 2 Zulu cities.

8: Increasing science rate again, magnetism in 2 rounds. Rush building marketplace in Sardis.

9: One immortals unit gets killed by a longbowman.

10: We discover Magnetism. 2 immortals die. We're still at war with Rome, you can talk peace if you like or try to attack again next round.

Only 10 turns for me, more would have been possible if it were my turn on the weekend but unlucky as I am, it wasn't possible :( I'm slowly losing interest in this game, as I can only play a few turns and the game is so big and proceeding slowly (between turns *args*) that it's almost annoying.

Im going to skip my turn, im a wee bit too busy. Sorry!

yeah, agamemnus was next, simplybag. Wrong time for you...

Uh, how bout agamemnus finishes his current round, and whichever one is better we use?

For ****s Sake, i'm sorry! I soooo badly need more sleep, I even **** up things I should be enjoying to do :) Won't happen again, I promise! I hope, heh.

1150-1295 AD:
Birth of an Empire
Turn 0 (1150AD)

We create some workers. I find that England has been totally decimated by the Germans, losing an estimated 95% of its cities.

turn 1 (1160AD)

War declared on Rome.

We burn a Roman city to the ground.

turn 2 (1170AD)
We gain the Roman city of Brundisium. We lose one Immortal.

turn 3 (1180AD)
We gain the Roman city of Hispalis.

turn 4 (1190AD)
We found Altin Tepe, gaining access to a source of Wines and Grapes.
We found Bunyan in between the cities of New Zululand.

turn 5 (1200AD)
We now have Magnetism! Egypt declares War on the Germans! No more threatening Egyptian Knights at our borders! New Nuremberg, a desert city near the coast opposite French, is destroyed. And so too is another city at the Northern coast of the mainland.

German counter-attack takes Kahun and Edfu.

Egypt has reached the Industrial Age. We have one more tech to go. Shows how stupid it is to set tech to zero every time I am not in command! :(

Massive barbarian uprisings near Kandahar! Uhoh...

turn 6 (1200AD)
Arthribis taken by the Germans. This is very alarming!

Cumae, the Roman capital, is captured. We lose an Immortal. A settler/spearman group is captured by our Elite Archer.

turn 7 (1210AD)
We declare War on England to take their colony on former Roman territory. Our Immortals is a little bit shaked up by the appearance of 20 horsemen and 1 warrior near Kandahar..

turn 8 (1220AD)
The French 'help us out' with a warrior detachment. He kills approximately 10 horsemen and 1 warrior before dying.

Nicopolis, north of the Meditteranean Sea, is captured.
The English city of Liverpol is captured by our glorious armies.
Stalemate at the Germany/Egypt front.

turn 9 (1230AD)
The barbarians have conveniently been eradicated by the French at New Orleans. They themselves suffered the same fate..
A rush-built Longbowman attacks Seleucia, a Roman colony on France's eastern island. It has one defender remaining.

turn 10 (1240AD)
Caesaraugusta, a magnificent city of 100,000 Roman citizens, falls to us.
Roman Virconium, a city amidst the Jungles and mountains of the Continent, also falls to us.
The Roman government flees from the Continent to Easter island, to the east of the French main continent. We decide to rest our forces stationed there.
I re-instate our Silks-Furs trade with the French.
turn 11 (1250AD)
turn 12 (1255AD)
Byzantium constructs Barracks. This will prove a vital staging area for our troops.
We defeat the Assyrians, the last 'Barbarian' encampment on this earth.
turn 13 (1260AD)
Charsadda built at Central Island. The arrival of Egyptian reinforcements have turned the tide in their war against Germany. Germany has lost all the cities it has gained from Egypt at the start of the War. The cities that Egypt has taken from Rome are much bigger than our own captured Roman cities. Our generals ponder how best to remedy this situation..
turn 14 (1265AD)
turn 15 (1270AD)
turn 16 (1275AD)
We trade Magnetism for Metallurgy from the Indians and then gain Nationalism. I smell BLOOD!
I trade Nationalism to France for 183 gold per turn and 310 gold!!!!!!! An arm and a leg!
Absolutely ridiculous! Egypt WILL fall to our glorious and magnificent armies!
turn 17 (1280AD)
Our enemies stand absolutely no chance at all!
turn 18 (1285AD)
We shall be ready in TWO turns to mercilessly crush the Egyptians!
turn 19 (1290AD)
WAR is declared on the Egyptians! Our armies advance on Oryx, Sebennytus New Thebes, Veii, Neapolis, and Antium. Our Knights take Ravenna.
turn 20 (1295AD)
4 cities riot because of the war. Oryx captured. Neapolis and Veii captured. We have a great leader now! Darius leads our men at the attack on Veii. Now we will be able to build our Forbidden Palace!

I rename Veii Rome and Rome Veii.. and order a Forbidden Palace built at the very spot where brave Darius led our troops to victory!

I make Peace with Rome. Let them wither!

NOTES:
*Most of the mainland cities are undefended.
*Attack with Knights first, if attacking. The Musketmen are very difficult on the hills.
*Do not attack the Egyptian city that I have surrounded. If you do, we will have high casualties and will probably even not get through one Musketman. We need to rush 4 or 5 Cannon.
*Don't attack without full HP.
*India's capital has Sun Tzu's. It would be a good idea to capture it in the future.

I'm unhappy to say that you can count me out of this game :( I just loaded Aga's newest save game and noticed I completely lost the overview. Although I read all postings and should have got all information required to consider myself 'informed', I know nothing about this game and I just don't know what to do, how to do and what my predcessors were up to.

It was my first SG and by experiencing it by myself I can now say, that it becomes too complicated for me starting by the middle ages, especially on a big map like this. I apologise for dropping out of this now, but I don't think i'm a good help any longer. I learnt that I can't play a game properly if I only contributed a small bit to it by myself and know about nothing about history and future plans.

Good luck for this game and your future games, too, but as far as I'm concerned this was my first and last succession game :(

Dont give up, im willing to assume it gets less confusing over time. I also am confused. Am i giving up? nope!
