Both look great, the improvements to the crown and gem definately work. The only complaint I have is his where his hairline meets the crown. There's a gap there, is it hard to fix?

I prefer the 2nd one tho

I think the first background is the best, but this is really looking amazing regardless!

I like the second the best. I also like the round jewel, but it sort of looks likes there are some wrong pixels stuck in it.

I agree with Plot about background. Regarding the jewel, the most appropriate shape for this time period would, I believe, be a rectangle with the corners cut off at 45deg. Can't say I care for the eggish shape either way.

Of those last two, I like the first. But frankly, I like the earliest one you did best! (The one with the yellow background & angels everywhere.)

Finally a background I really like; also lowered the crown few pixels as per Rifleman's suggestion, and changed the Jewel as per TLC's suggestion...
