Dear Merrick,

Thank you for creating such engaging and enjoyable mods.

I absolutely love your Venice, before the update it was one of the only civs I played as.

I'm not sure if you are still actively modding or updating your mods but I thought It was worth brining to your attention that currently the game crashes around somewhere between 130 and 135 when playing as Venice. Numerous people have reported this on steam.

I also have one (broad) suggestion for Venice: perhaps consider linking the Grand Canal to the canal improvement, as it is in the game now. Also - like China - move the canal improvement forward to masonry. Furthermore, link the 'Grand Canal' to the city of Venice (and buff it further with something like bonus trade routes or ship construction).

Hopefully helpful feedback, as I said up front, this is my favourite civ to play as. Continue the excellent work, which once I have figured out patreon's community guideline I will sponsor.

I wonder what we could do to make this updated for the current patch? I suspect that it is mostly because it isn't updated for the most recent expansion, and perhaps it wouldn't take much effort to tweak to allow for it to be playable. This was an excellent mod before the changes this winter, and i'd love to see a return to playability of it.

Edit: Some of the instability seems to come from the trigger of other non-venice player's cities getting to the 3 district threshold, where then the capitol is given another free district and a trade route. This happened on 6 different cheat-assisted play throughs of building an empire quickly, all on turn 3 or 5 or 10.

Im going to tinker with the code to see if I can disable these features and not get a rapid CTD.

I don't suppose you had any luck with this? I've been waiting ages for this and the Italy civ and its various leaders to be fixed and fully GS friendly. Hurts not having them in the game!
 
FYI the Kievan Rus direct download is missing its .modinfo file! This is the version that's in the .RAR on Google Drive. The game can't seem to identify the new civ without this. The other Merrick civs seem to have this file so I'm thinking this is probably why ...
