Rested from your time in the barracks, you begin to feel fairly embarressed about how you'd acted yesterday.
Nonetheless, as everyone assembled in the mess hall for breakfast, you couldn't help but notice the absence of a fellow trooper.
Squadmates were sent to the barracks to kick him out of bed, but returned, ashen-faced, with him over their shoulder.
As they slumped him onto the table, it was clear that he'd been dead for a number of hours now, thanks to a bowie knife thrusted into his gut.
It was clear to all around that:
No-one had alerted the camp's sentries that night. The killer had to have been in the barracks at the time.
With rising suspicion, the soldiers were marched off to drills.
