I got so pissed at the "Smart Tags" MS Word kept adding to my documents (even though I tried tiwce to keep them off) that I stormed into the Add/Remove programs window and uninstalled that feature. While there, I also uninstalled FrontPage, Outlook, Access, etc. because I never used them.

It worked beautifully. 200+ MB of unneeded features gone.

But I have ran into one problem. Every time I open up Microsoft Word or an existing document, I always get this error message:
The function that you are attempting to run contains macros or content that contains macros languge support. When the software was installed, you (or yuur administrator) chose not to install support for macros or controls.
But I have never used macros in my life, nor have I written in other languages besides English in Microsoft Word. Why is this error message appearing, and how can I fix it (besides installing that feature again).

My guess would be that the "smart tags" are essentially macros inserted into the file. You uninstalled support for macros, so the "smart tags" don't work. Good riddance to the macros, I'd say (all they're really useful for is spreading viruses), but to get rid of the error messages, you'd probably have to reinstall smart tags, then disable them in Word (myself, I just disable all of the autoformat/autocorrect/autospellcheck junk. If you tell it to go away often enough, it might listen.)

Yeah, even though I kept disabling them, they always kept popping up in the next document I opened.
