Or, how is our list of needed hobbit units going? We just had an obliging unit creator ask us what we wanted, and all we came up with was "hobbits who throw rocks" and gay porn (but we didn't want gay porn). I know I'll get reprimanded by PCH for overlooking something obvious, but I don't know where we might find some indication of what sort of hobbit units are needed. Wasn't there some sort of link in a thread or two earlier, with a list of units for civpedia entries? Maybe we could find some hobbit unit needs there, if someone had the time to dig that up.

I'm sure I said we needed hobbit militiamen with bows and spears. IIRC, we do need that.

Hobbit (Kinboat's Worker that throws stones)

Offense Line: (These units should look thin, to fit in with Kindred's - if not, then we can work around it)
Hobbit Warrior (No graphic)
Hobbit Infantry (Old Kindred72 graphic, could use a new unit)
Hobbit Adventurer (Don't need - Kindred Scout)
Bounder (Don't need - Kindred Swordsman)

Defense Line: (These have no graphics, so that can look however)
Hobbit Militia (No graphic)
Hobbit Levy (No graphic)
Hobbit Guard (No graphic)
Smial Guardian (No graphic)

Missile Line: (No graphics, no preference, thin might look better here)
Shire-Reeve (No graphic)
Shirriff (No graphic)

So you see we're still a few seats short of a full house.

IOW, we need a bunch of hobbit militiamen. Just to go with Civ tradition, the misslie line should use bows or other missile weapons, the defensive ones spears or the like.

Perhaps the Militia and Levy could be armed with pitchforks or scythes?

Mind if I throw out (up) some thoughts on Hobbit armaments?

Offensive line (close-in weaponry)

Hobbit Warrior -- club, spiked club, goeiendag or something similar?
Hobbit Infantry -- what's the Kindred72 unit wielding? A sword?? A flanged mace might be nice...​

Defensive line (stand-offish weaponry)

Hobbit Militia -- pitchfork, scythe or something similar?
Hobbit Levy -- billhook, threshing-flail or another modified farming instrument?
Hobbit Guard -- hmm, a full blown spear, here (appropriately sized, of course)
Smial Guardian -- Geez, I dunno, maybe a spear plus a bit of nice defensive armament, like a decent shield and a stout leather jerkin?​

I guess both the missile guys could just carry bows. Javelins would be a tad too weird. Maybe the earlier one a shortbow, and the later one a longbow (appropriately sized, of course)? Although, a slinger might be pretty darn cool!!​

(If aaglo does pick up this rather large project, poor kid, he'll probably be bombarded by a legion of requests to enlarge most of these units to human size after he's finished making them)

*curses* I thought the rocks were a good idea! How else can shire units acquire transportation from Bree units?

I'd say that ideally the missile line would begin with slings and progress to bows. Ideally!
