Sorry for the not posting earlier. It's going alright, I've got the Governments, General Settings, and Civilizations tab up to speed. The General Settings tab was hardest, as that information wasn't documented on the site. I had to look through the threads to find it. I'm going to tackle the Technologies next, before doing the units and buildings.

Hello Weasel Op, I'm sure your help will be appreciated. :)

Ok, I've divided up the tech tree into eras, and have winged the cost of the first one. Do these costs look ok? I realize the total sum of points is higher than Vanilla Civ3, but we have more techs.

Thanks guys, I already moved on anyway ;). I went back and lowered the Archery cost per Wimp's suggestion. TLC, I don't think anyone besides BA and Firaxis bothered to learn how the costs work :). I'm just winging it here, trying to make them as similar to the Vanilla era as possible.

Here are the 2nd era tech costs, give you guys something else to chew on. We could raise some tech costs, these are a bit on the low side. If anyone notices something that can be bumped up in cost, let me know.

I agree with TLC, just assign them to whatever and then we'll test it.

Yeah progress, but I am too busy to post daily to try and stimulate discussion, as well as MOD the game. Hopefully you will see an in-game preview of the tech tree tonight.

If you guys want to talk freely between yourselves, that would be helpful ;)! Maybe talk about the city lists? I can post some links to certain key information, it would just be a matter of compiling it, really.

I thought that most of those were really done. Post what we have and we can work on them,

Here are the lists that will need to be drastically overhauled:

These are very important, and nicely done. The problem is certain things are out of order and the civilizations are different.

I recommend that each civ follows a pattern. For instance, an agenda of how each location\alternate name\geographical region should be placed. Since we won't have enough real cities for most civilizations, I think it should look something like this:

1.) Real Cities (Edoras)
2.) Fortresses
3.) Geographical Regions (Westfold)
4.) Rivers (Entwash Glade)
5.) Other Geographical Landmarks, Like Mountains and Forests
6.) Alternate Names for Real Cities
7.) Alternate Names for Fortresses
8.) Alternate Names for Geographical Regions
9.) Alternate Names for Rivers and other Geographical Landmarks
10.) Made up Cities

Each civilization should have at least 30 cities.
Here are some names I read from an encyclopedia and put into type, I figured all these could be used as cities or great leaders. I posted this a long time ago, as you can see I stopped at "F" and went to work on other things ;).

Hey kids,

I had a nice holiday. Glad to see things are still on the ups. In fact, I had such a nice holiday that I'm going to keep having a holiday -- somewhat, anyhow -- by not posting very much at all. I'll probably just download a lot of new units that I'll never install, and try to finish my first ever game of CivIII. (I've finally made it to "Electricity," and am reasearching "Reusable Parts" or whatever. I don't think I've ever seen an "Infantry" unit in action before! No clue how I'm going to learn how to fly them planes, though.) Scream at me if there needs to be a vote, or if I need to explain the Moriquendi again. I won't complain about unit graphics ever again (promise?).*

Anyhoo, keep up the good work.

Cheers,

the Grey Man

*I crossed my fingers! Ha ha!

Hey Mithadan, nice to see you again. If you plan on sticking around, you might want to throw in a few words about the city lists.

Update: Technology is almost done. Governments are finalized (empty Civilopedia entries, pedicons.txt complete).
Resources are finished.

Does anyone know how to plot X and Y coordinates for technologies? I can post a .biq that has all the tech stuff finished, meaning; artwork, texts, .biq work. The only thing the techs need are X and Y coordinates. This obviously includes the arrows. If someone wants to do this, post that you will.

Im sorry PCH, I have no clue whatsoever how to do that :) Unfortunatly im really busy right now. Ill see if I can squeez in some citylist-time .

<edit> Mithaden! good to have you back!

A lot of you have said "I can't do gfx, but I know the books well". Now is the time to speak up and start helping with some city lists. :) When you do it would be good if you posted a line about it here, so not two people start working on Gondors city list at the same time, e g.

@Mithadan: Uncle JRR wants you! ;)
