Militia

@DH: How hard would it be to add a button that says "don't spawn militia" or something and turns off spawning of units even when the civic would normally give them. That would be a much better solution than going through and manually deleting milita units you don't need or want.

It can be a made a game option, probably even a BUG option, if I can just remember how to get at BUG options in Python and where the Python is for militia:)

Bug option sounds good, but I'm more thinking of something on the player interface that says "don't give me militia now, but please give them to me when I switch this off and am being invaded". Because now to do that you have to manually eliminate lots of useless units to get the benefit when it counts.

I don't because I don't build farms except on crops.:mischief: In theory it should be possible to require that you are at war with someone I 'spose.

Nope i dont like that at all, sorry.

EDIT: Come to think of it, Militia should be fine now where its at, its now under the Conscription Civic, and that isn't used too often. By the time Medieval Era is around you should be passed that civic anyways (Maybe).

You could make farms not spawn militia when build, but get a (hidden) "militia-tag". When you declare war or someone attacks you, there could be an event that ask you if you want to call you militia units now. Then all farms with the militia-tag will give you the units and lose the tag. (Maybe get it back after X turns)

Something like that, but with less code. ;) But SO doesn't like the idea so it won't happen unfortuntely. I was only trying to reduce my micromanagement load. :rolleyes:
