"To make up for my previous post, here's a picture of what currently happens when a ravine hits a stronghold, in two different brightness settings."

You're being sarcastic here, right? Because Australia has a much higher income tax rate than that.
Other than that, yeah, they would make a lot of money with minecraft and I assume that their maintenance for the game wouldn't be that expensive because Minecraft is an Indie game and that software is cheap. Also, the price for minecraft has increased a little, too. It used to be 10 Euros when on sale.

Um, no? I don't see what was sarcastic about saying "over 25%". Even 25% seems like a LOT, I certainly don't pay anywhere near that much in Canada for income and sales tax in my province is 12% HST. I don't know which taxes it would be subject to exactly, but what money he makes off it personally will be less than what Mojang makes off of it I'm guessing.

Note that because Persson resides in Sweden, these impressive revenue numbers are obviously going to be subject to Swedish taxes to some extent (very approximately 25% for business income, and almost 60% for personal income at the highest rate).

I think he meant sales tax (judging from article). Most countries have higher income tax than that. Although I'm guessing Sweden's income tax is also prettay prettay high.
Would he have to pay sales tax on it still? The purchase went through PayPal and I've never had to pay sales tax with that or on Steam, GamersGate, GoG etc.

I recently got beta 1.7.3. I've done a few things recently in it...I'll have a screenshot of my current project up soon (if I can find it...) Nice to be back on this thread, I've posted once like way, way back.

And it looks marvellous! I've waited so long for that. :)

EDIT: Wait, Localhost... Does that mean LAN play?

I know he wants to integrate the server into the client, so a single player game is really a multiplayer game that just you connect to. He also wants it "seamless" so with a click of a button you can invite your friends into your sp world

I don't really play LAN... I set up a server as any other person would using bukkit on my laptop and we connect to it using two other computers. We do use the 192.168 router IP addresses though. And I even resort to Hamachi when I invite a 3rd person on the internet somewhere because port forwarding can eat me. It works fine for just the 3 of us.

(please don't talk to me about port forwarding).

That is Notch's test server in their office. You've been able to set up a server on a local host for a long time, so yeah you can LAN it. SimonL does it.

Yes, but it takes time to learn for us lazy people who can't figure out computers. I've tried myself, but it took a while.

Whenever I use my server I connect to local host.

I've just discovered a rip-off game which closely resembles minecraft. It's called Total Miner.

If people are going to rip off minecraft can't they like set it in space or in cities or something. Take the gameplay in a different setting.
