Minecraft

I've had creepers blowing up on my face and completely ruining my structures (albeit small ones).

Endermen only remove a couple blocks at random, it isn't that big of a deal, now is it? It's not like they're common, I hardly ever find them.

But then again, I dislike mobs in general so I spend most of my time on peaceful. :p

My main issue is that Minecraft has all these tricks and abilities to build defenses for your structures, but we have absolutely nothing to defend against. Endermen were a slight threat and a potential reason to build something like a moat.

What we need are aggressive mobs. What I mean are like zombies that attack in spawn in large groups, and go after the player, while being able to break blocks. I also think Endermen should act like villagers, and pick up wood and use it build houses, and and walls, etc.

I think execution was poor. If the block moving was part of something greater, as well as a way to protect structures, then I think it would of been awesome. As it is implemented right now it is random and annoying. That is one problem with SCRUM, because features are suppose to be iterated on they are often introduced "unflinished." And because minecraft is being offered mid development that can be problematic if the vision isn't shared.

What I do like about it is that it simulates unmaintained structures decaying.

Not sure about the decaying part, atleast for SSP. One player against the entire map decaying over time wouldn't be very fun since you'd be spending all of your time trying to find which blocks are missing. Might be fun for large multiplayer servers where you have hundreds or thousands of players with different jobs.

However, I think the enderman should remove blocks only "when necessary" - i.e., when it's attacking you and needs to remove blocks to get to you. It should also drop the block(s) that it's carrying when defeated/burns. I'd be ok with those two features.

Found an abandoned mineshaft for the first time!

Lots of good stuff in here, including some watermelon seeds and minetracks. :D

I hate tower defense games.

I generally do too but I'm not sure how that is relevant. (I also don't recommend the latest indie bundle sale on Steam, it is labled as "Strategy" but is just tower defence stuff).

It's relevant in that I don't want to play Minecraft in a way that reminds me of tower defense. I like that mobs endanger me, and make exploration spooky. I can defend myself. But it doesn't seem like Minecraft is the kind of game where I want to also have to defend my structures with defense mechanisms, traps, moats, walls and whatnot. I'm sure there's space for both types of gameplay with a simple option that allows or forbids mobs from damaging structures.

New mob:
Spoiler :
And it's craftable. :)

Notch:
It will be craftable, is friendly, and throws snowballs at enemies. Also melts in hot biomes.
The snowmen are ridiculously suicidal, throwing snowballs at creepers and spiders, annoying them to attack the snowmen. It's funny. :D
Also, they spread snow by walking around. Nice.

Its nice the whole Minecraft world is getting more and more varied now

Or they could have just build a moat around the station with a wall on the inside. Apparently endermen can't walk across water.

I was thinking this would be an easy way to aesthetically fortify my mansion. Not sure why they didn't go with this option.
