[Mini Mafia] The Social Experiment

Well, this is a mini game. Can we just transform into a small game or is there a line for those?

How long should days be? Any length is fine by me.

Once we hit 10 people to fill the list, I'm putting people into reserves. If we do make this a larger game, we'll move them to the player list.

You'll have to go back into the queue, if you want to make this a small game.

Why not just keep going? I don't think anyone is going to be put out if a 'mini' game has 14 players. It's an arbitrary definition anyway. It's just that with 10 players, the town loses if they don't get a lynch on the first day.

Not really. This game doesn't really change in 'size' if you increase it from 10 to 14 players. It just increases in length. Slightly. 'Clue' games are all 'mini' regardless of the number of players, because they are far less intensive. We can either 'stick to the queue' and play this game with 10 players, which would suck, because the town would lose on the first day, or we can get a few extra people (actually, there already seems to be enough demand) and make it more balanced. I don't see the purpose of the queue as to force us to play unbalanced games. There is a distinction to be made between raising the number of players here and queue-jumping.

Then I might as well stop running the queue. People can just start whatever size games they want, whenever they want.

But that's not what this is. This isn't queue-jumping. It remains a 'mini' game, just not under some arbitrary definition. It doesn't set a precedent for people opening up games whenever with however many players they want.

We can say, "okay, well this time we'll just keep going, but in future we can remember that clue based games need more players." That doesn't negatively impact on anyone.

Clue games work on the basis of one kill per mafia, and one lynch per kill. The 'clue' sequence doesn't really work if you reduce the kills.

I think it should stay mini with 10 people. It would be hard for clue game, but let's try it

Maybe some special mechanics? Like 2-4 players with ability to revive others once? (just a thought)

Well if we're gonna stay a mini game, we'll need to be a little less than vanilla.

In my humble opinion, I think we should just start this one, as the GM really did not see this one coming and was unprepared. This is something we should just keep in mind for next time, and we can prepare for this if such a thing happens.

what do you mean by "vanilla"? Typically I find that term used to describe abilities, but clue games don't really have abilities.

is this still a clue game?

also I don't think I gave an opinion on making this a small game or w/e, but if you extended it to like 12 or 13 roles I personally don't think it matters (even though that goes into the "small" game definition, it can be basically the same "feel"). Anymore is a no-no imo.
