For all of us who love looking at maps, the current minimap needs more options:

● Currently, you can't see the countries because you are blinded by white city dots all over the map. There should be an option button to hide the cities and just see the civs in their colors on the minimap.

● There should be a scroll for the minimap so that you can position your civ in the middle of the map and not be on both edges of it.

Another option (maybe in the advisor screens) could be to see the whole map blown up to fit the monitor screen. Different options would allow you to see different things:

● Color the civs according to current alliances: your civ - red, allies - orange, enemies - blue, neutrals - gray, etc.

● Color the civs according to wealth or technological advancement: From the most down to the least.

● Color the civs according to current government and religious stance, especially if those things determine world politics and reactions from other civs.

● Color the civs according to trade and passage agreements, etc.

I would definitely like to be able to toggle the mini map to full screen.

It would be useful for taking screenshots rather than having to retire and wait for the progress map to go through every turn, so I agree.

I definetly want to see a map screen in civ4. But I think that most of the options you have covered their (if not all) will most likely be dealt with in the foreign advisors screen. These of course could still be viewed in the map screen (religeous/allinace maps would be great) but there are a few others I would be interested in seeing. This is what I would like to see:

1) As you already said, the ability to remove cities from the map screen so that just the nations borders are visible.

2) The ability to see where all known luxury and strategic resources are - no more scrolling through the world looking for which cities (not the country) to invade because you have no coal.

3) To see all known troop positions.

4) To be able to highlight all cities with ports, barracks, walls, airports or other certain improvements. Also to be able to see where all of the wonders are.

5) To be able to see a civilizations culture were there no other civs around - the unimpeded cultural border. Something from this could be used to show which cities are most in danger of being culture flipped (though I think that this would be a job for an expanded cultural advisor role.

As I said in my silly thread duplicate, I support the minimap getting rid of the cities as an option.

I'm not sure how a minimap would be able to display all resources and troop positions though, that could be complicated.
