OOC: Keep in mind you aren't the only civs here. Besides you 6, there are 10+ civs that are just as powerful as you are, and make the same type of decisions you do. You just don't know about them yet... (of course there are merely barbarian tribes that you could push aside fairly easily.

Update - 3800 BC
Agricultural Revolution
Nomadic people throughout the world stop their wandering and decide to settle down. Many important civilizations first arise at this time.
In Africa, a people known as the Mali, start a great city. They call it Timbaktu. Over the next several dozen years, the Mali slowly expand outward from Timbakt till they become a wealth city state. The early expansions result in a new unit. The Mali Scout. When a group of warriors rushed forward to build a small settlement and got eaten by lions, Mansa China decided it would be good to send fleet-footed youth ahead to spot possibe dangers. The Mali are the first people in the world to carefully develop this strategy.
The lands of Europe become crowded. In the West, the Holy Roman Empire arises speaking of some sort of god that is to come 3800 years in the future. Most people view them as a crazy cult, but many join their ranks. The ruler, Charlemange settled his people along the Rhine. He told them to advance South and started a wonder in his capital.
But it was only a few days when the HRE warriors encountered a foreign people also expanding South. They called themselves the United States of Europa and told of a manifest destiny to expand into the whole continent. The two sides shared a laugh and then left for their seperate ways, the HRE warriors mumbling about arrogant neighbors, the USE warriors talking about dumb cults.
In the heart of the USE however, things were going pretty well. The President gave some more rights to mercheants and traders which resulted in an increase of 1 economy level. His small raft based navy tried to cross the water one fateful year, and returned with news of a great island inhabited by people as civilized as they were. The British had by then inhabited much of South Britian.
In Arabia, in the citty of Meccas, Abdul Muhammed starts a small kingdom himself. Not far North, the Israelis expand in all directions without much difficulty. Their leader, Amirsan, begins a great wonder and grows the army. There's just one little problem...
