Minor requests and questions thread

So I've played a few marathon games now and CotD always gets the biggest percentage of the map covered. I'd suggest that CotD can't start up until the barbs build the big red dragon city.(can't remember his name)

I've played as the lizards and got CotD in my capital on the second turn before.

Right now, CotD is founded via this second turn event you mentioned. Only Kuriotates, Sheaim and Tlacatl get this event. I guess it's because they have dragon heroes, so it's assumed they somehow are following dragons. I agree it doesn't really makes much sense:

- Kuriotates are led by Dragon who possesed/merged with Cardith Lorda. From his entry we know that this fact is not widely know, at least until late in game. I can imagine Kuriotates following CotD after building Eurabatres but even then, CotD is evil religion while gold dragon is good.

- Abashi is clearly powerful being and might be followed, but Sheaim are following Ceridwen (Emyrs Cult). So they are rather following god himself, not his weapon (as Abashi was created by Ceridwen.

- Coatlann is good like Eurabatres, so I can't see how he might be worshiped by CotD, but of all non-barbarian dragons he is most likely to be worshipped. I would assume that good lizards may see him as their god.

That's flavor, gameplay is another thing. As it's spawned on turn 2, it's very likely to spread widely. With Ancient Chants you can assign priest to spawn Great Prophet. So you can build Wyrmhold very early to get lots of gold. Not very balanced ;)
I'd prefer CotD to be created by Acheron instead. It fits flavorwise (he is worshipped according to his pedia entry) and certainly is more balanced - and gives you one more reason to hunt the Red Dragon down.

I'm new to Orbis but am already impressed by what I see.

The 'small chance to discover X' is that over time, or do I build it and 'safely' build over it?

I searched the forums and didn't find anything specific.

It is small chance every turn, 1 in 10000 to be exact. So every turn every yurt, farm, quarry, lodge has 0,001% to discover new resource. In all cases but of lodge chance is effectively higher, as this is chance per resource and they can discover multiple resources.
In case of quarries chance is increased by every earth mana you have, so 2 in 10000 with 1 earth mana, 3 in 10000 with two and so on. I'm not sure if it affects other improvements.

the more the merrier?

Right. Quarry can discover 10 resources, so with 1 earth mana every quarry have 20 in 10000 (0,2%) per turn to discover something. I believe other (farm and lodge) resources are affected by Nature Mana the same way as mouseover on Nature mana also has 'increases chance to discover resources'.

I would really like to see some sheaim changes..

Specificly their (only) unique gates..

The monsters that came that were non-demon were more of a hinder-
rather then help..

Also what about mobious(sp?) witches that came leveled? Im indiferent-
about this but It'll be nice to level them to your liking.

Also maybe have the cap of gated units or at least longer summons?( I spam mages like a good sheaim should)

I have read somewhere about this on some thread but I guess It never made It..

I don't know what else..as I played as them and noticed AC doesn't really bother them..

Since your cities are usually packed and small, horsemen are your buddies who sip tea with you..from time to time.

And basicly the 100 AC rarely happens before A) everyones so crippled they die from barb demons B ) hyborem and basium duke It out across erebus and picking anyone with them.. Yes In my games basium vs hyborem = scary.. IF I don't turn off combat animations their battles would last around 5-10 mins..

Well, while Sheaim (and Planar Gate mechanic especially) can surly use a lot of improvement this thing is actually a nice one. As witches start with random promotions they often start with access to spells you don't have mana for - for example, they can start with Spirit I even if you have no Spirit mana. Later you can upgrade them to Spirit II spell (or even to Spirit III spell, as you can upgrade Witches to Eater of Souls). I usually keep ones with spells I can't cast normally in case I need them.

I'd like to see good leaders get a chance to chose a labor civic before Feudalism or Currency. And perhaps a slight boost to Aristocracy, in my eyes it's still difficult to not want the 50% production bonus from god king until republic comes along.

The happiness bonus is very strong. The hammer bonus for the capital is usefull at the begining, but not when you begin to have enough cities.

I agree. Having to be barbarian for most of the game as good civ was annoying before, but is even more with 10% slavery chance, completely out of character for good civs.
Maybe adding new civic, available at Pottery, Service Settlements. It's early medieval ages (IX-X century) type of economy popular in Central Europe so Ahwaric should be already familiar with it.
Basically, it is economy where inhabitants of villages are assigned to specific service for their lord. One village can make arrows, other one shoes or be assigned to hunting. In polish names of many villages are connected with service they used to be performing back then.
In civ terms, civic would give +10% :hammers: and -10% :commerce:. Additional +10% to military :hammers: might be needed to balance it because of way civ rounds numbers :)

Also, maintenance penalty of God-King hurts and extra trade route for every city is 1 or 2 :commerce: in each. Free xp for mounted units is also useful sometimes and great for Hippus :)

I have a minor request..

Where exactly can you find the triggers(?) where hell-terrain has It's restrictions.

Ex; 25 on nuetral lands, 50 on evil civs, etc.

I'm changing my game a bit..see how will It work out..

So thank you In advance If anyone manages to unveil this to me.

Hi. If I wanted to make Decius a minor leader how would I go about that? Thank you in advance.

If you have Excel 2007, open file "Orbis.xlsx". Find Leaders tab, then Decius (should be last one, I think). In about 1/3 of the page, you'll find traits. Add '1' next to Minor, save file (remember to enable macros).

If you don't, find file CIV4LeaderHeadInfos in \Mods\Orbis\Assets\XML\Civilizations dirctory. Find Decius entry, and under <Traits> add

<Trait>
<TraitType>TRAIT_MINOR</TraitType>
<bTrait>1</bTrait>
</Trait>

Try using English ;> I also noticed that no minor leaders gameoption doesn't always work as it should, don't know why though. I think it was case with Palatinate minor leader also... and btw, 1.0c isn't out yet ? :>
