Minor Suggestions Thread

Or you could change the way it's detected completely. You could easily set script data to tell the game what spawn date it is, or even the worldbuildersave file name.
The problem, of course, is to implement the change in all modules.

The proper way would also be to add a function/method to RFCUtils for identifying the scenario, because you might wanna keep adding new ones.

This might not be a minor suggestion (or even possible for that matter) but one I keep thinking of whenever I play RFC and watch the rise/decline of the various nations.

Player as respawned civilization.

Would be awesome to pop as Carthage with Rifles everywhere or Aztecs when the evil Isabella overextends herself .. UHV's would be out of the picture in most cases but haven't you ever wondered just how far a respawn could take it with some "proper" guidance?

You can actually do this by enabling cheat mode. Once a respawn happens you simply cycle through players with Alt + z until you take control over the new player.

You shouldn't try to play any of the minor civs however, because this will cause Python exceptions - the mod simply isn't meant to be played with these Civs.

That would really be the only way to play as modern-day Arabic-speaking, Muslim Egypt.

I always thought it odd that Rhye chose to put in the separate Egyptian-Arabic dialect, but didn't put in Italian names for a Roman respawn. I'm not complaining, either way it's a nice touch, it's only that I'd figure the Latin/Italian thing would've gotten the special treatment first.

Is it documented anywhere all the effects of cheat mode? All I know is that there's some worldbuilder stuff theoretically tied to it (I've never had any issues using worldbuilding without it... perhaps they changed it in a patch?) and that Rhye enabled squatting in cheat mode.
I think that the cheat mode I was referring to and the "cheat mode" in RFC are two separate things. The first one you enable in the .ini file and the second one uses a short-key in-game.

But there is actually one undocumented cheat feature in the most recent patch, for which I can actually take credit for: If you hit Ctrl + Alt + s while in RFC cheat mode you get a +10 stability boost. :D

Don't forget control-x or control-alt-x I forget which one is right, which allows you to cycle through the players forward rather then backwards.

Oh-uh how much affects the cheating mode playing in general (or where can i find it in source code) - without actually cheating? I'm using the cheating mode because various reasons (for example seeing x/y cords), but now i maybe messed up my last few months of playing :/

If you have it enabled ("chipotle" in the INI) but never use any of the hotkeys, the game doesn't change.
