Minor Suggestions Thread

Could you script it to have Celtic units appearing in Ireland perodically to represent uprisings or mabye if Dublin or whatever city was built in Ireland is unhappy some Celtic units could appear?

irish dragon -> I never add unit spawning in islands, because from experience of civ3 (I studied why it was slowing down), those units are useless and will move in those few tiles forever.

iles -> in the new version, the tech rate has been slowed down a lot, tech costs were changed, and the modern era timeline was slightly changed too. So, these problems are out of date.

But there will already be a civ there (probably England), who are at war with the celts and will kill them off but who would be punished if they left the city undefended

Rhye,

Is there any possibility that you could activate some of the espionage features for Independent Nations? I don't know exactly what or how, but my problem is with City Visibility after Electricity is discovered. It's strange how you can't see the independent cities even though you can see any others, in theory.

Adding the Native Americans Civ would be nice and be at instant war with America when they spawn. Perhaps allowing certain areas (when civil war or independance given) could create their own civs, ie. Australia, Korea, India, Canada, etc. in historically correct areas. They only spawn on Freedom given or decent into civil war. Also not as an automative Vassal if independance given, but a positive relatons bonus for the freedom being given.
Perhaps also create the Zulu as a Nation to make it a bit more difficult for the colonization of Africa.

Overall, a great Mod. This is just about the only one I play now.

How about adding independent city names? example:
Emona Lulia (Roman)
Laibach (German)
Ljubljiana (Independent)
If a civ collapses, than the cities that were independent in real life shoul'd get their names. here are some more examples: Warschau-Warszawa, Urshalim-Yerushalayim, Helsingfors-Helsinki.

no, cos they are FAKE independent cities

Would it be possible for Ath Cliath/Dublin to spawn a bit earlier than it currently does so as to prevent the English from trying to crowd two cities onto Ireland?

Also, perhaps a solution to the Arabs not invading north Africa in the 3000 BC start would be to have some of Egypt flip to them, just maybe the eastern edge.

1-Dublin is fine as it is, because sometimes it's independent, sometimes not.

2-this already happens in 600AD start, as a bit of Arabia culture is already planted in egyptian cities. Furthermore, in the new patch AI will be more aggressive, once more, towards independents

Very minor but:

1. Any way to tweak the population values for cities/nations? Civ populations as they are now are just a fraction of what some of these countries' populations are in real life; especially in the modern era? For instance, countries like China and India have 1 billion plus in real life where they rarely get close to even 30 million in Civ. Perhaps all cities get a +1 or +2 population boost with the discovery of medicine?

2. Vassals and Civics - Would it be possible for a master to request anything they would like from a vassal or is this hardwired?

And would it be possible so that certain civics are very unlikely to be matched up together? For instance, Russia becoming the Soviet Union with Theocracy?

Thanks for slowing down the tech rate, that should help out a lot!

Change the name of the Vikings to "Kingdom of Sweden", 1523, when Sweden left the Kalmar Union.

Denmark was the greater power until halfway into the 17th century. Sweden had a very brief period of Baltic dominance, lasting from the Thirty Years War to the Great Northern War of the early 18th century, making Denmark or "Scandinavians" a better choice.

Denmark's territorial area is in the game controlled by Germany or Netherlands. Vikings has Norway, Sweden and Finland. Finland was apart of Sweden for most of the history, up too 1800 and Norway was a part of Sweden from 1800-1900.

I knew some Dane would be upset for the previous post :p
Maybe it could be ok with Scandinavians, (but not Denmark !! :D) but the civs are usually called what the states are called and not the regional name.

Lol, from a neutral point of view, I think Scandinavia(ns) would be more suitable for Vikings. Actually, I'm kinda disappointed that Denmark isn't really a part of the Vikings in RFC. It was one of my favorite factions in Medieval: Total War :p

Here's a suggestion: How about some severe stability penalties for slavery? Remember the American Civil War? I think it should be more like - with Constitution, - with Democracy and another - with Liberalism. That way, colonial empires like mine aren't too tempted to enslave the poor Aztecs and Brazilians

I think thats the Vikings should be swapped with Denmark or just 'Scandanavia' personally. Seeing the Vikings from the High middle ages onwards really annoys me.
