Missing fonts/icons in mods

I've got an annoying issue with installing mods:
There are no fonts in game at all. Even the startscreen doesn't show any options like "Singleplayer", "Multiplayer", etc. The Civilopaedia only shows about 10 or 20 icons in only one category without any descriptions.
Although it's possible to start a game by clicking on the (invisible) buttons, in game it's the same thing. Whole interface looks unfinished.

I noticed this issue when I tried to install Planetfall a few days ago. Then I took Warhammer and Rise of Mankind - but they had exactly the same problem.
The strange thing is that Fall from Heaven2 and Fall Further for example are working fine!

My installation path was "Civilization 4/Beyond the sword/mods".
System: XP Pro SP3

Would be nice if someone had an idea about this.

Do the folders of the mods have the right name?
If not: Change them to the name, which the modder suggests.

If this is not the problem: Are you running civ in an other language than english?
If yes: Change the language to english (in normal BtS), and then start the mod.

The_J is probably right. It sounds like the mod doesn't have the language tags for the language you are playing in (usually something other than english). either switch to english before loading the mod, or set english as your default language in your ini file.

Yes, that was it. I had the german version running. After switching tio english language, it was fine.

Thanks for you help
