Goal: Hurt Mali. Saladin is weaker but Mali is the score leader and needs to be slowed. Taking cities will be a difficult slog without catapults but we can at least pillage him back to the stone age.
Turn 0 (220 AD): Traded pig to Hatty for clam. Traded cow to Izzy for fish. These trades are good for us and at least not make everyone hate us. Micro Susa for the granary to get the chop? Why are we building an axe without a barracks? That place is going to be front line soon. As an aggressive civ, we have no excuse to not build a barracks first.
Turn 1 (230 AD): Took a gamble on the tundra axe and won! 0.3/5. Sacked Shangian for 111 gold. Fortune favors the bold. Sometimes it's better to be lucky than good (TM)

Also killed barb archer near Tarsus with swordman (3.5/6) Ouch!
Turn 2 (240 AD): Declared war on Mali. Destroyed Awdagnost (a poor tundra city in south) with Cover axe (0.3/5 again).
Also killed a skirmisher and a spearman to capture the settler they were escorting. No more cities for you, Mali!
Could get hairy down south. The threat could be big.
Turn 3 (250 AD): They retreated!
Turn 4 (260 AD): Wow, should be big fight at Djenne next turn.

Chariot could be trouble.
Turn 5 (270 AD): Like lambs to the slaughter are chariots to formation spears. Flawless victory.
At Djenne, even our city raider 3 swordsman doesn't get very good odds.

He loses, whittling down the skirm to 1.6/4. Our next sword wins narrowly (0.6/6). You lose one, you win one.

Then two more wins (3.7/6) and (4.7/6) to capture Djenne, the Confucian holy city and a worker.
I decide to keep it despite the hefty cost. I think we built waay too many workers.
Decided that trading ironworking to Ghandi isn't that bad an idea and I do so. We are going to need polytheism for literature for the Great Library if we go down that route.
Hmm, the barb city has a worker inside. Juicy
Turn 6 (280 AD): Imhotep born in Paris. He offers Metal Casting. Nothing spectacular. He goes to sleep for now. I think once we get math, build Hanging Gardens in Paris and then we get tons of engineers.
Mansa Musa is the devil. Look at his score!
Turn 7 (290 AD): Marching forth units. Queue swordsmen everywhere. We need a horde of swords to kill all those skirmishers. We have to pillage copper also. Axemen would be the death of all our brave swordsmen.
