MNOTW XV: The Academy Game Thread

Evening Day 8

Once again, the consensus was clear. Chaos was not something that could be afforded. Takhisis had to go. The shadow adept and azzaman held him down and Turquoiside slit his throat.

Spoiler :
Takhisis strove to Hold Fast!

The unceasing sound of the catapults firing placed a suitable cap on another failed day. Those remaining dispersed, hoping to get a little sleep and not sleep forever.

I might as well say what I've done.

I figured that with five people left I might as well start using my doctor abilities. I random healed Zack. I'm not sure how that appeared in the writeup, by since I'm the Fire Adept, I guess that I charred him?

That seems like an odd way of healing to me, doesn't it?

And I was wrong above. It's not technically Lylo, but it is close enough that mislynching is really bad, so I have one use left on my healing ability for tonight.

Well this is just tricky, especially since it's just awful luck that we've ended up with a F4. I'd still waiting to hear the case against me, btw.

Well this looks like Lylo.

Now is the time that everyone needs to say everything I suppose.

I've said everything; with no night actions and zero private communications my game history is pretty transparent. The reason I voted for you a few days ago was because you pretty much needlessly joined the most popular bandwagon day after day with almost no attempts to justify then. See Day 6; I didn't vote choxorn because your quick vote on Takh made what I *thought* was a solid majority. Of course, I nor the Mafia knew the vote would somehow go to choxorn anyway; but I was kinda pissed you threw your vote on Takh and I thought the phase was almost over anyway, so I voted for you.
Azzaman's vote for choxorn that day seems to clear him; though that's only if the remaining scum is part of the Dark Alliance (although 4 Mafia, a Serial Killer(?) and w/e Mergle was is a higher than usual ration of scum to town, but more on that later!). And though he had no way of knowing that choxorn was at risk that day, if he were Dark Alliance he had to know something was screwy with the votes by that point and wouldn't have placed a vote on choxorn and with that create the risk he'd be lynched.
Dreadnought...is a bigger mystery. Though he's voted to lynch a grand total of 0 scum, I think his voting recently (well not his suspicion of me but w/e) makes sense; perfectly townie imo. Takhisis and Cpt. Blackadder were both the scummiest in their day, and his sticking with Takh after he was saved speaks for itself. And I can't really fault him for not voting topsecret, though KE is much less explainable. Still, he seems town. That leaves only Bhuddafish, and with that reasoning I'll have to Vote: Bhuddafish.

Now...that's all assuming the final enemy is part of the Dark Alliance. I'm not entirely convinced he is though...I mean look at the write-ups. Everyone was either axed or slain until Kaiser died; then everyone was only slain until choxorn died and the killing stopped until tonight. The kill method seems to tell who did the crime, so what is 'charred and stabbed' trying to tell us? Considering we still have the Mind Adept (not to mention Spirit) running around, perhaps this killer specified the method and this an attempt to lead us against poor Bhuddafish. But before I go on to the implications of this: What did you do last night Bhuddafish?

Oh that's what, I x-posted you. :/

No roleblock last night hurts us, but I can't ignore the evidence that the roleblocks on Turquoiside coincided with no kills on those nights.

Vote: Turquoiside. Sorry if it's not you. :(

I was only roleblocked once; just like Cpt. Blackadder. In spite of out success for the first few days with it, relying on night abilities to find the scum is going to be a fatal mistake.

Plus, stabbing seems to make the most sense for a Secretary to do. Wouldn't the adepts kill him more creatively?

You mean like a Fire Adept would char their victims? And as I said before, we don't know exactly how the kill methods are chosen. Could be deliberate. I wouldn't look into it.

Ah screw it, no way if Bhuddafish is Mafia would he let the vote stand 2-1 instead of sealing the deal. So between Azzaman and Dreadnought, two people who have been so perfectly Townie...yeah I don't have a clue. Azzaman has a great defense since he more or less single-handedly brought down choxorn...but even that doesn't matter now. If Kennigit was right, and KE's team does have 2 people I'd wager you're #2. How conveinent you forget to roleblock on the most important night of the game and thus send us to a F4, how conveinent your roleblocks seem to line up with nights with no kills almost perfectly. Unvote;Vote:azzaman.

But like I said, I'm well aware that there's a good chance you'll turn up Town. In fact the ulterior reason you have to leave the game today is because you're the roleblocker and try as I might I can't find a place for that in the F3.
Once azzaman dies, even if the game keeps going, as long as the scum victory is NOT automatic @ F2 then we can easily win this one.

Dreadnought: Use your drain ability on Bhuddafish. If he's scum, it doesn't matter who he kills because his vote will be outright weaker than either of ours and a Town Victory would be inevitable in that F2.

Bhuddafish: Use your heal on me. Tbh I have no idea WTH happened last night, BUT we can assume the Mafia did it. Even if Bhudda did it, you can't judge if it was because the 'heal' is really a kill or because the heal just has a chance of failure that results in a kill. Anyway, if Dreadnought is the scum, then by healing me you force him to kill you, since he can't risk me surviving the kill and resulting in a F3. This is good, since that leaves us with a F2 instead. Since I can just switch his vote the next day, even if he drains me the night before, his own vote would kill him when I shift it and it's a Town Victory. And if you're scum Bhudda, the drain will certainly take place before your kill; you die in the F2 like I said above.

Finally, if the reveal that I'm the vote-switcher (Hi, I'm the Secretary, who else did you think was counting the votes?) hasn't convinced you I'm Town then that sucks but there's nothing you can do since I'd just not kill tonight and then switch Dread's vote to Bhudda tomorrow (since he clearly has high Brain...errr probably. Between Takh and Choxorn, Dred actually voted for the one who survived, but I'll assume that was because Zack and hopefully not azza had even higher Brain.) and I win no matter what. So neither of you have any reason not to follow that plan, and if you follow it the Town is sure to win.

^I think the deadline was an hour and a half ago? If not, I hope you guys are extremely careful tonight.

End Day 9
The four remaining looked warily at each other. Or at least three of them did. The Fire Adept just sat in a corner smiling beatifically at everyone, even when accusations were sent his way. However, as the day began to end, the tide seemed to be turning against the secretary. Knowing he was dead if he didn't do something, turquoiside made his move. Making as though to head to the facilities, he suddenly turned and bulled into the Mind Adept. Dreadnought let out a small cry and went tumbling down the stairs, right into azzaman. Not giving them a chance to recover, turquoiside leapt down the stairs and drove his knife into azzaman's throat. He helped Dreadnought up, and with Dreadnought warily trailing behind, they went to investigate azzaman's room.

Spoiler :
azzaman was striving to Hold Fast!

Dreadnought turned and darted out of the room. One thing was certain, no one was getting any sleep tonight.

That Night...

Turquoiside was up, balancing the books, one last time when he heard a knock at his door. "Come in!" He said, turning to face the door. The door flew open, and a fire ball swiftly followed, engulfing him in flames. He fell to the floor, desperately trying to put himself out. He looked up at his assailant, "You! You're the one behind this!" He cried, before his screams were reduced to gurgles as a knife across his throat ended him.

The next morning.

Dreadnought and Buddhafish looked warily at each other. Dreadnought said "So, I suppose this is where you accuse me of being the final killer?"

"I considered it, but it wasn't worth the bother." replied Buddhafish, and he threw a massive fireball across the room, instantly incinerating Dreadnought, as well as tearing a hole in the wall for the invading hordes of the Clan. The flames climbed high into the night, and the civilized world wept, for they knew their time was at an end.
