About:

During the time leading up to the WOI, many a king would secretly back Piracy.
Queen Elizabeth is especially noted for turning a blind eye to Piracy when used against her rival countries and actively encouraging such activities. There was a thin line between piracy and privateering during that time, and it was constantly being blurred and indiscretions overlooked by the Powers that be. As an example the pirate Sir Francis Drake was known to Queen Elizabeth as "her Pirate" and she secretly condoned his piratical activities. Such English pirates became known as the Elizabethan Sea Dogs, or Sea Rovers.

The Sea Dogs would loot, plunder, sack, capture towns and found new ones sometimes in the name of their King or Queen but often times for their own ambitions.
This mod will be an attempt to simulate these events.

The Mod:

Periodically your King will contact you with a Mission. He will offer you various objectives with a substantial reward if completed, if failed he will raise your taxes... duh! I plan to add this to my Privateer Mod, but it will be a stand alone mod as well.

Planned Objectives are:
-Sack a City (a new command that lets you raid a city, much like the Indians do to you :)
-Assassinate a Unit (a Unit will be Named and marked for death. You must track it down and put an end to its activities)
-Capture a Unit (Example: A new Governor is arriving in the town of Isabel, the King wants you to give him a warm welcome)
-Blockade a City (Prevent ships from coming or going from a city for a certain time)
-Prevent trade with Europe (don't let any ships travel to Europe)
Coding update:

Most of the Code for Blockade a City is complete. The rest are on the drawing boards.

Sounds cool! (You like to make "stand alone mods" that will be in your Pirate mod, don't you...)

Minor nitpick: "becomeing" is spelled "becoming". And "quicky" is spelled "quickly".

What about a "cut off of x civilization's trade with Europe" mission? (prevent ships from sailing to Europe) Similar to blockade, but in reverse...

Yeah, I like to jump from one project to the next to keep things fresh. I'll code for a while, then I'll work on modeling a unit, then I'll jump back to codeing some other project. Thanks for the spelling heads up, it is not my strong point. But I did "quickly" put that all together.

Thats a good mission idea too. I'll add that to the list. Thanks for the input.
 
This could go well if you were able to hire mercenaries.
