[MOD] Fall from Heaven II

Woohoo! I've spent the past few days trying out strategies and such, even though I'll bet everyone else has come up with them before.

Dang, the Calabim are fun. Only chance you get to see a vampiric werewolf :D ! And Hemah is infinitely more fun as a vampire.

Any reason you can't give blitz to vampires?

When is the next update? I like to see favorite Religion on each leader so that I can now select which one can use this or that religion.

They do have prefered religions. They are set in the leader tab of the editor. If a leader has -100 for a religion he will never adopt it, not matter what.

So if you'd like to set which ones can use which religion just put a -100 on every religion you dont want each leader to be able to use and you will have it.

No eta on the next update, sorry.

Here's something you can do until Kael and co. finally put in a unit that the Khazad can use to find shadows. Click on globe view and then activate the military overlay (the little button with the helmet in it). Then click on Enemy Military and suddenly you can see the shadows even though they are supposed to be invisible. Then send a Dwarven Druid or two to where the shadow is and use the Crush spell on the shadow (the tile will light up even if you can't see the unit). Repeat until the shadow is dead.

Heh. Intresting solve :)

Thanks to all.
Buy the way - it will be good to give dwarves any 'normal' unit to see Shadows.
OO-religion is quite specific and not the best for dwrves, in any case :)

I also remember strange thing in last game. Seems like sometimes there appeares zealots/thanes/other missionaries just from nowhere...
I founded Runes, then, much later contacted other nations. And I seen Thanes of Kilmorph in enemy cities while they have no one Runes city. I never build any other religion missionaries, but once I recieve the Leaves missonary (forgot the name).
Is it intended?

I just downloaded this. I've loved the original FFH immensely, and I love this one too. My only question is what that row of symbols right above my row of unit order buttons means. It is between the small boxes with a "portrait" of each unit selected in a square and the large buttons where you choose whether you want the unit to fortify, skip turn, sentry, go to, or explore.

You get one missionary of each religion tech that you research (the one that founds a religion - even if you are not the first one to research it).

1. Please allow civilizations to somehow choose a state religion if a FFH game is started in an advanced age. As it stands, we get the nice units and so on, but all the religion techs are discovered, and so no civs can get a religion.

2. Please release a zip file containing just the XML text files with only the text content of the English tags remaining (not French, German, etc.). Civ4's XML parser doesn't want to obey the encoding="ANSI" tag that you can put next to the XML version no. in the first line of the file, and so if you have an Asian (mine's Japanese) version of Windows, all the characters with diacritics in French and German get misinterpreted as Chinese characters. The problem is not esthetic, because I choose English in the game and don't see the French text, but if any character with an accent or umlaut is next to a closing XML tag, it corrupts it, and I get hundreds of XML errors when loading the game. All the text is then rendered as <TEXT STRING WHATEVER> or something. My XML editor is too weak to selectively delete all lines with the <French> tag, and doing it manually would take several hours, so please help.
(I'd like to ask the same thing of Firaxis, if I could - if only they would fix their XML parser in the game.)

Something tells me that this is one of the reasons why the team wants to switch over to the Beyond the Sword codebase. There's supposed to be a feature that allows customizable starts so I guess when they switch, you could choose which religious tech you want to start with and in effect choose which religion you want.

I wonder on the next update we can make this feature before the release of the next expansion.

I played a game as the Clan, instead of my usual Amurites. I was on prince level and found that the Clan raced so far ahead of the ai players in points i was always in danger of ye olde barbs turning on me. Not having to worry about building military units seemed a huge advantage. Just me and my particular game? Was also nice being able to build 'adepts' without a mage's guild or such...had them coming out of my ears!! :)

How does Vanilla Civ4 assign religions on advanced starts? Can't it be done the same way with FFH now until the new expansion comes out?

We do use the same method as vanilla. All players are given the religon founding tech (if they start in an era past the one it is set for). Then a player is "randomly" selected to be the founder. It takes a few turns before founding happens, and players that do it a lot will notcie that its not really random. But its exactly the vanilla process, we havent touched it.

Will the BtS diplomacy system allow you to "blacklist" and ignore civs that are at the bottom of the pecking order? It would be a nice feature to have when some civ at the bottom of the pecking order, that has nothing to offer, keeps nagging you and making empty threats.

This is a great mod but I've stopped playing it since it crashes to the desktop (and can't reload a auto saved game) after a couple of hours of gameplay on large or huge maps if I make minor tweaks to the .xml files. This isn't specific to 0.21d, I have the same problem with other recent versions. I don't have this problem when I made similar changes in other mods.

Is the white flag fix for banners? Since I upgraded my graphics card, I have noticed white flags on Queen of the Lines. Thanks.

Hi,
I haven't been around for along time and I must say that FFH2 0.21 is magnificent!
I wanted to ask a question regarding deplomacy, it seems that I almost never able to request one AI CIV to start a war against another AI CIV, this is even in the case that we are 'friendly' & the AI has bad blood with the other AI.
I have also tried "Call of War" or something like it with my Patriach high priest, & it didn't do a thing.

It's unlike the Vanila, any reason for this issue? or am I missing something & thier is not issue?

Thanks,

Your right, the AI should be more willing to join battles. That will all be adjusted in the next patch (which will be coming out this weekend). As well as making them more likely to do other things like share maps, techs, etc.
